yes! the pure love theme made it so that we as the audience can focus on their relationship, understanding and mutual support, rather than racy scenes. It's actually that much more poetic

there will be a timeskip so both actors' age fits nicely with the age of the characters. plus, there are no overly intimate scenes, just pure love, understanding and just one forehead kiss. The series is all action and no fluff (as in no filler scenes, very rapid pace, packed with details and foreshadowing, respects the audience's IQ; and even side characters have their own arc; doesn't feel like NPCs).

I read this in a Chinese social media comment: "Amnesia was like God/Heaven's way of sparing XWY, imagine him waking up after his traumatic brain surgery (his chest was opened up too) and from coma and his memory was still intact, can you imagine how much pain he would've been in... he would've taken longer to recover. Poetically, a lot of the things in Episode 1 mirror the last episode, like recognizing each other from the rear, the way she protected him both times (but with a growth arc, since she now can really defend herself for real). If you rewatch, there's also a lot of foreshadowing. For me, at least his amnesia was super short (even though I would've wanted to see how amnesiac wuyi was living his life in the palace with limao for 3 months; let's leave that to our imagination!!). He saw her, and his brain started to move, which really spared the audience the agony.

Whether a show hits 10k heat index or not sometimes depends on the production team's marketing budget. This drama had a very modest marketing push, especially with them moving up the air date, the marketing was all rushed.

For example; I heard it was supposed to air on the 25th, HMH generously invited Amy to his concert on the first day and Riley for the second day, it would've been a perfect PR campaign! but now it just feels like a celebration for the end of airing.

Turns out Amy came on the first day, and Riley Wang came on the second day of his concert!
