It's the same in the novel [not finished reading it], and it was just as hurtful to read there too! In the novel, Loek To is written as an arrogant playboy, whereas the series changed his character to be cold and clueless instead. It's definitely an improvement, but it still hurts to hear him compare Fei Foon to an ashtray. The series is getting so interesting!

Loving the series so far! I became a big fan of Dew after Burnout Syndrome, and it’s so fun tracking his roles—he’s worked with Gunn in one drama, Off in this one, and both of them in Burnout Syndrome! I’m genuinely surprised by Tee's acting here Hope the series will keep this pace. 🔥

So far good. This drama moves away from the heavy, high-stakes palace harem intrigue in favor of a somewhat grounded story about commoners, family dynamics, and a "rogue" salt dealer ML, giving it a totally different vibe and pace. I am intrigued to see how the ML becomes a high-ranking official!

I didn't expect to laugh this much from this series! Thai comedy can sometimes be a hit or miss for international audiences reading subtitles, but this show manages to be over-the-top silly without feeling cringey at all.

We’re only 2 episodes in, but I’d already recommend this. Maxky is really good in comedic roles too—though I loved his reserved side as Johan! Bas is playing the complete opposite of North, and Bas is doing good playing Soh. I'm really enjoying the side characters, too. I just hope the production team keeps this quality up!

This drama suffers from a really bad execution. Watched all 5 episodes that aired. Both the romance and the thriller elements are handled so weakly that they completely fail to build up any tension or emotional connection. Ultimately, it just feels like a waste of a good story, and I honestly feel bad for the actors who are looking their best and acting with such a poor script. Now, I am just waiting for Cheng Lei's upcoming Republican-era drama "The Lament of Autumn."

I think Sun was crying due to many reasons. His brother was killed due to his own past bad deeds [debt collection], and his ex ["Sunny"] stole his mother's treatment money and left him. He had to take out loans for his mother's treatment but still couldn't save her. Now, he works endless odd jobs to pay off that massive debt, which is how he crossed paths with Jay. Drowning in grief, guilt, and debt, he was asked to pay, but he offered himself to Jay as a form of self-punishment, and he feels he deserves the pain.

I am watching it for Dew. He is a good actor.

Oh, Wang Xing Yue is such a sweet person! Even though he politely declined the contact request, as the author mentioned, "he refused the advance without embarrassing the other person". His portrayal of Duke Su in The Double is absolutely my favorite, and I miss seeing him on my screen so much—I can't wait for his next drama!

You are spot on about the dresses—some of these actresses are way too petite and underweight (nothing wrong with being slim) and thin for those massive, heavy ballgowns. You practically need an hourglass figure just to fill them out! But I guess looking "thin as a stick" is the trending look they're all chasing.

And I agree with you on the colors. Like another comment mentioned, it feels like the unofficial theme this year was strictly black and white for Asian actresses. At least the actors have their classic suits to fall back on!

It makes total sense why the director would have that specific requirement. Since Qi Min is portrayed as being physically frail due to his childhood trauma and illness and doesn't possess the same martial arts prowess as his brother, a slimmer physique helps visually communicate that vulnerability, but his hunger for power makes him move. Qi Min is a complex, psychopathic, power-hungry character.

I don't think this is the first time she's been a mortal. At the start, the narrator mentions He Si Mu often visits the mortal world to rest, so she likely spent time there over the last 300 years. However, since she hadn't met her "spell bearer" (Duan Xu) yet, she probably lived as a mortal without her five senses.
We see this in episode 1 with her making a deal with Chenqing's father, as she promised to take care of Chenging until he got a family/be safe, and also, He Simu took the identity of He Xiao Xiao, who in one of the episodes was possessed by a spirit to kill her by He Simu's enemy.
Anyways, even though she’s used to being among mortals, experiencing the world with one sense for 10 days will be new to her—and dreams—with actual sensory input is clearly a brand-new learning curve for her!

Even while she is sleeping, she is still breathing, right? Whether it's the scent of a balm or the smell of scent or even smoke, those sensory inputs would still reach a person [ she is in a mortal body]. I think that helps her distinguish the real world from a dream.

I am really enjoying Love beyond the Grave so far! At 15 episodes in, the story remains compelling and well-paced, keeping me eager for the next episode. The chemistry between the leads, Dilraba Dilmurat and Arthur Chen, is surprisingly good—their teasing and attraction feel natural and make the romance building worth watching. I hope it will keep the pacing and hope their 'love' is worth the wait.

I totally respect your opinion! I actually loved all the couples for different reasons. For me, William and Izaya had great chemistry and some of the best kisses—I really enjoyed seeing that 'mature' reunion between two people in their 30s. They weren’t exclusive 3 years ago, so seeing them find each other again after bad breakups felt special.

Then you have Bomi and Huwei (who also had a past dating history; actually, Huwei went out with Ryuki twice), who represent that sweet 20s university student love. Huwei is definitely reserved and struggles with expressing himself in romance, but Bomi’s consistency in pushing for those feelings and becoming fruitful is rewarding to watch!

But my absolute favorites are Jobu and Taehon! They’re such an oddly matched couple. I’ve been rooting for Jobu because he’s so genuine—you can tell he just really wants to find love again after his breakup. I do agree with you that the creators could have edited the storylines better, but I really loved the whole cast!
