I believe the rating is like this because of the second half of the drama. I was one of the people who truly hyped it early on, now I’m sitting here confused and trying to understand what happened. You may or may not see the switch. A lot of us are disappointed, it’s still a decent one to watch.

You reminded me that I have to pick back up “romance in the alley”, I paused it was it on ep 1 or 2? it was hard to get in to. That woman just went and dropped her child at her boss, not caring if he’ll be mistreated or not 😤.

If you say it’s one of the best for you, I’ll pick it back up and push through. I don’t want to miss on a good drama.

Because I’m on the last episodes and I hate it here! It feels like 2 different shows in one. Move forward with caution.The last episodes can leave a bitter taste because of the writing that feels too different. The storyline took a weird turn and the leads personalities became unbearable.

That aged Yinzi so much; she looked like XiuXiu’s older sister. The writer and makeup team gave up on us on the last episodes smh.

Exactly, there was nothing respectable about him. Now thinking about it, he’s been consistent in his moronic behavior. Since day 1 he was annoying. A spoiled brat is more like it.

SuSu was too good for him.

Right! His SIL, poor woman ended up alone and with empty storage because of his selfishness. He realized too late that he wanted to be near SuSu, what an idiot.

I still reject sanctimonious XiuXiu, I accept early version of her when she wanted to hurt her father who abandoned her. Her husband I can’t really blame him, he was just happy she was his and wanted to make her happy.

I still reject her disgusting dad, he was a sick pervert by choice.

Only had a tear for Feng Er (ml dad), he was a decent man. He only wanted his land.

SuSu is the one who had the good life. No responsibilities, a suffocating SIL but still left her alone, an idiotic “husband” who was never there but allowed her to stay in the big house.. All she had to do was eat and run around.

I feel like saint XiuXiu and her husband chose to suffer because of pride, thinking it was noble. They had options but chose the hard way, good for them.

It’s unfortunate. I think it’s one of those topics that cannot be neutral. It’s one of the reasons why I don’t know where to start because any resource I find will be definitely biased.

I can understand that. My comment was mostly because he left her alone. I found myself thinking “couldn’t he at least have a bastard child if he didn’t want one with SuSu??” All she wanted was to continue the family line. She sacrificed for him and his family, he could at least “sacrifice” himself and leave her his child to raise. That’s why I said he was selfish.

I don’t know much about the communist party, I see some saying it was bad and others saying it was good. I should look more into it, I just don’t know where to start.
