She says in the episode that she caused her son's death, but but it is not in a way that makes you believe that she believes it.... The words are there but the heart is not...

Honestly, I don't think the writer's initial intent was for them to get married. I think that some network hacks decided that they should get married for some reason not related to the original story (against the writer's wishes) That is why they did not actually show MK and GH's wedding scene (only the part where MK led her into the wedding hall).

After that scene it seemed like everything stalled between the two main couples for about 20 to 25 episodes (just a repeated cycle of 2ml cheating 1fl finding out and grabbing her stomach - over and over again. In my opinion, this was the writer being a little passive aggressive with whoever made her go down this route (i.e. "this is not my story line so you guys figure this part out.. I will write my other storyline's). It was not until it was getting close to the end that it changed. That is when they threw in the mini time jump and the divorce (I believe that is when whoever decided to change the main couple story line came to the writer and said please fix this - however you can.

This is all speculation of course. There was a lot on the line for the network with this drama because it was so consistently highly rated - №1 ... forever and a day. So I just think that they stuck their nose in where it did not belong and that is why we had such a deviation from the story that the writer wanted to tell about the main two couples.

Episode 121 Preview (KBS)

Dan-soo and Gong-hee vow to protect each other to the end in front of Gyeong-tae. Gyeong-tae finally acknowledges Dan-Soo, but he is unable to control his emotions and quietly leaves.
Meanwhile, Hong-dan visits Soo-yeon and is devastated to learn that she has a brain tumor and is leaving for surgery in the U.S. Meanwhile, Chairman Hwang refuses to change her mind despite Audrey's pleas and Dan-soo's nursing care. An unexpected visitor arrives at Hwang's house...!

Actually the three branches according to the writer are the stories of 3 mothers and their growth as mothers. Gong-hee (as a mother choosing to marry a man who is not her baby's father, GH's mom, tough and protective of her kids, and GH's sister in law (who became a wife, a daughter in law, a step mom all on the same day). Those are the writers own words. NOW what actually happened is a whole other story!!!!!!

I keep going back to watch GH and MK together in the early episodes (before and while they were dating). There was so much more chemistry between those two than there is even now between GH and DS. It almost feels like GH is just going through the motions with DS. He talks about always being there for her and her response is blank stare or I am glad you support me in my career. Very neutral. The way that GH looked at MK and her body language around him said that she really really liked him - romantically. The looks GH gives DS and her body language says we are great friends or we have been married a long time and are so used to each other.

PHN has the acting chops to pull off the romance and she has done it in this drama as GH with MK. so it is within her abilty and within character to do so. PHN just does not seem to click with PSN for some reason.

The witer wanted the another man's child setup for one of the couples. That was going to happen no matter what. What they could have have left out was the stupid prolonged unnecessary doomed marriage of 1FL to the second ml. It brought nothing to the table and just served as a time wasting mechanism as we just waited for the inevitable to occur.

There is nothing that GH could say to change crabface gma's mind. Thats why I think that it is probably something in her sons diary that made her say that it was all her fault and that she killed her son.

In the preview. you hear the chairwoman saying "It was all my fault - I got my son killed" It looks like it all happened after she came from GH home BEFORE GH had the opportunity to clairify things with her dad. When DS is crying for his grandmother it looks like he is wearing the same suit he was wearing earlier. Just my observations ....

Yeah I thought he was going to knife the detective. It looks like the chairwoman is going to come to the realiztion that she was partly responsible for her son's death this next episode. I think she probably finally reads her son's diary - that has been sitting by her bed for the last 20 years - and we just had it brought to our attention this last episode.

Have you ever seen that tv show that showcased the most stupid criminals. These people have an abnormally different level of stupid thinking going on in their heads. This killer guy would fit right in!

What makes it so disheartening is there are people in real life who thonk that way. No matter what it is they do, it is always someone else's fault.

Yeah I just how over the top his "its not my fault" excuse is. I am just a victim here - just like your dead son that I killed. Its the cops fault that I killed him.

I love the killers response to the chairwoman. Your son died because the cop sent him my way. It is all the cops fault that I had to kill your son with my own two hands. Had that cop not yelled for your son to come towards me....

Episode 120 Preview (KBS).

Chairman Hwang uses this as leverage to force Dan-soo to break up with Gong-hee, but Dan-soo refuses to back down. When Gong-hee learns the truth from Kyung-tae himself, she comes to understand her father's deep guilt and pain, and Chairman Hwang's 20 years of resentment crumbles...

Yeah I looked back at some of those older episodes to check out the differences that you are talking about. You are spot on. GH has never swooned over DS like she swooned over MK.

But to be fair to GH and DS currently. They do seem to be more comfortable together and seem to have a more mature relationship now. This is something that she did not and would not have ever had with MK.
