The description did not call her happy but cheerful which she is and tries to be. It stated she is searching for happiness. I dont think she is still in love with him but she has residual feelings for him since they did have a happy life now everything is bitter because of how it came to a sudden halt. That is very much understandable

He also really is an imbecile. He is stalling to investigate because he is wary of what he will find out about the woman he loves and how incompetent he is to simply believe everything she says. He is spineless and infuriating because he fails to do the bare minimum and look into it in spite of so many people telling him something seems strange about the story.
I feel sorry for Ja Ni because all the consequences seem to be falling on her since she is actually innocent in everything. A child should never have to suffer for a parents sins. The mother is not remorseful in any bit of the word. Maybe she should get sick next, maybe it will help. There is just so much projecting going on. The ex wife cursing the family specifically the baby knows she was wrong for that but is still so resentful that she does not want to admit that.

I prefer the ex wife to be with the uncle tho. She deserves a do-over.
