I think Luke's character is just someone who is afraid to show his emotions. He has been like that growing up, so he simply doesn't know how to love her. For most women, like Flora, we expect and want to be loved in a specific way, but realistically speaking, it's tough to find a man who fits what we imagine. Lucky are those who actually do! Anyway, in the novel, he didn't agree to commit because they both had inhibitions. They started their relationship out of mutual attraction rather than love. Both of them had their prejudices and were always doubting each other's feelings, which really came down to a lack of communication. But it all comes together at the end when he asks, "You think I didn't invest any emotion in those six years?" He loved her, he just didn't know how.
I just had to read the novel before continuing the drama. I finished it in two days and definitely enjoyed it! Its definitely a good story, and I loved how everything ended well! Now I'm wondering how they will fit everything into the remaining episodes, especially since there are only 24 in total.
The last five episodes of Road to Success had me bawling, furious, excited, laughing, and deeply moved. What an emotional rollercoaster! From the very first episode to the finale, I was either laughing or crying.
The characters' backstories made the entire series feel so much more meaningful and emotionally rewarding. Every episode added depth to the story, and not once did it feel dragged out.
This is easily my favorite sports drama, second only to Prince of Tennis. I absolutely love youth dramas like this. They're filled with hope, determination, friendship, and life lessons that remind us of the best parts of being human.

I think it comes from how the story leans into a cliche K-drama trope we’ve seen in recent like Vincenzo and Queen of Tears, which feels heavily inspired by the massive success of Crash Landing on You. I guess if you’ve been watching K-dramas for two decades, you start to notice the patterns. That said, I still think it’s better than many recent releases, though to be fair, I haven’t watched as many in the past few years. I love IU and Byeon Woo-seok, but part of me also feels like Bae Suzy could have been a really strong fit for the role. Anyway, just my opinion.

I guess not everyone is aware of "individual differences" and just obstinately opinionated people. Individual preferences also exist. If you don't like her, then don't watch her shows and just stop criticizing her. She still got a lot of fans who love her just the way she is. 👌
