I think he just can't speak his own name (Which is a weird choice by the writers). When he's confessing to Huawei about his real identity he never said his name specifically, he only said "I am him."
Edit: I take back what is said about the writers' decision of being able to speak his name. If you think about it I bet they're setting up the plot that when xiangyoung's existence eventually ceases to exist (as he's the only one who knows of his own existence) he will be unable to do anything to prove let alone make anyone remember that "He Xiangyoung" was a real person.
