It is very unfortunate that the writer focused too much on emotional depth but was unable to portray it well. It is very clear that they forced this drama to have an unsatisfying ending, even though it could have been made much better. Even though the first 4 episodes were very good. In the final episodes (9–10), which should have been used to resolve the main conflict, they instead became the worst part of the drama. There were too many unnecessary scenes, and the excessive screen time of the second lead took away from the time that should have been used to resolve the main issues. This drama actually had the potential to show both characters growing into maturity, resolving their problems, and ending with a happy ending. However, it failed to deliver that due to unclear portrayal and writing, especially in the final part. Even the title of the drama, the storyline, and the way the director and writer described it in every interview when introducing the drama do not match at all when watching it. As a result, viewers who followed it from the beginning, even before it aired, would feel confused because it does not align with the creators’ original description. The writer focused too much on emotional depth without considering a satisfying narrative flow for the audience. Ironically, that depth also failed to be conveyed due to the imbalance in the perspectives (POV) of the two characters. As a result, the female lead ended up looking bad, while the annoying second lead took over the highlight of the ending. If from the beginning the writer intended to present complex characters, they should have realized that this drama needed more than 10 episodes for the conflicts to be clearly portrayed. Or, if it was limited to only 10 episodes, each scene should have been written more clearly and with better focus, instead of being filled with unnecessary plot points. Meanwhile, the two main leads, Jinyoung and Minju, have very strong chemistry. It is such a shame that their chemistry was wasted like this. Hopefully, they can reunite in a rom-com project in the future, because their potential together is very great. The writer should be grateful to the two of them for saving this drama from its weak writing. I personally stayed until the end only because of them. I even still gave this drama a rating of 10 not because of the drama itself, but because of Jinyoung and Minju
It’s very unfortunate that the writer focused too much on emotional depth but still failed to portray it well. In the final episodes (9–10), which should have been used to resolve the main conflicts, the writer instead turned them into the weakest part of the drama. There were too many unnecessary scenes, and the second lead’s excessive screen time took away from what should have been used to properly conclude the main characters’ story. This drama had the potential to show both characters growing into maturity, resolving their issues, and reaching a satisfying happy ending but it failed to deliver that due to unclear writing and poor execution in the final episodes. Even the title of the drama, its storyline, and the vision of the director and writer feel completely disconnected. They were too focused on emotional depth without considering the narrative flow that audiences expect—and even then, they failed to convey that depth properly because of the imbalance in the two main characters’ perspectives, along with the overly dominant and frustrating second lead. It’s especially disappointing because the two leads, Jinyoung and Minju, have incredible chemistry. It’s such a shame that their chemistry was wasted like this. I really hope they get to reunite in a rom-com project in the future their potential together is huge. But I still gave it a 10 not because of the drama itself, but because of Jinyoung and Minju. The writer should be grateful to the two of them for saving the work from its poor writing.
This drama shines because of its sincerity. The chemistry between Park Jinyoung and Kim Minju feels gentle and genuine, like two people slowly rediscovering each other. It’s the kind of romance that doesn’t rely on dramatic twists but instead focuses on emotions, memories, and growth. ❤️
Still Shining feels like a warm memory you revisit after many years. The story is quiet but deeply emotional, and every scene feels meaningful. Park Jin-young and Kim Min-ju have such a natural chemistry that makes the story feel real. The cinematography and OST are beautiful, and the pacing allows the emotions to breathe. A truly comforting romance.
This drama is so good, it's the best Chinese drama I've ever seen, a must-watch!!! This drama is incredibly popular internationally, and even after it finished airing, it's still incredibly popular. They have tons of reviews and TikTok edits with the most views. The lead actor is amazing, so beautiful and handsome. They're the best-looking couple in a Chinese drama I've ever seen. Their chemistry is incredible!!! 🔥🔥❤️❤️❤️
