Fan Zhixin is the only real reason to watch

If not for being a fan of the ML I don't think I would have made it to ep3.
FZX is such a good actor I really wish he got better scripts because this is really not giving him anything to work with so far.
I'm not familiar with the FL so it's hard to say much about her so far, she's not doing a bad job, the script really isn't giving anyone much to work with.
Other reviews say they have great chemistry, and that the plot moves fast, so I haven't given up yet.
I am spending more time playing with my phone out boredness than I am paying attention to the show currently.
When she bites a guy and he screams in pain it's hard to take seriously because she bit his arm through his suit jacket and as thick as those are I really don't think it could have hurt that much.

It is a little better starting at ep4, it's becoming okay instead of being barely watchable.

ep6 actually has me laughing, the ML and FL are getting cuter and more fun.

Borderline painful

From other reviews I've learned that the characters in the web novel this is based off were in their 20s while the characters in the drama are in there 30s and that definitely accounts for some of the problems I had with this.
For instance, there's a female work friend who dies things like gyrating around on a bed they're about to shoot a commercial for and going off on tangent about having sex in cars in the middle of a meeting about a car ad they're planning - the boss just lets her go off on this tangent without saying anything and then decides to end the meeting...? What in the world even was that?!

I felt no chemistry between these too at all. I kept thinking to myself this scene should be hot, but I've felt more heat in a single glance before than I was feeling during a make out session between these 2.
I don't know if that was because of the actors or if that's on the production team, but it was a serious disappointment.

Anyway.
Here are some notes I took while I was watching if you want to better understand why I gave this such a low rating.

Spoilers below.

Ep1- Borderline painful. The FL is rude & disrespectful to her Dr but timid as a mouse in front of an ill behaving superior. She does the trip & fall 3 times in this episode.
- The ML is a grouchy, exacting, perfectionist who physically pulls away instead of helping when she trips (this makes 0 sense & is not how he acts at any other time with her).

Ep2 - Wasn't obnoxious. Instead, it was kind of boring & I skipped through half of it.
- During an event he saves her from a piece of collapsing set & ends up with enough stitches in his back to leave a sizable scar.

Ep3 - The MLR I kind of feel bad for. Essentially, he's her ex because she had visions where she wasn't in his future, so she started treating him horribly.
He doesn't know about the visions or understand why she broke up with him.
Flashbacks have her acting like you'd expect from a psycho villain character. Confronting him at work, slapping his phone out of his hand & yelling at him for not answering her calls when she knows he's working.
There's also the scene where she breaks up with him, where they are in a room that is completely Trashed, including what look like broken/smashed cameras (he's a director & photographer).
- He comes across as pathetic showing back up 3yrs after she broke up with him, with a ring wanting to marry her. - According to flashbacks the ring was because she had told him to propose when he won a certain award.

- Her sobbing sounds So fake its borderline annoying.
- The ML isn't as grouchy; he goes out of his way to look out for & help her repeatedly.
He looks a little better with his haircut, but I still don't find him attractive.

- While drunk she tells the ML she can see the future when she kisses someone. She also tells him she's seen them sleep together - She asks to double-check the vision, so he kisses her, just your basic, frozen lip lock, after she is plastered.

Ep4 - He watches out for her the whole time she's getting drunk. Carrys her up to a hotel room. Buys her clothes & matching heels so she can change before work - She finds out at work the outfit is like a one of kind he got from the designer - and she doesn't thank him for Any of it.
- The MLR wants her to agree to go on 3 dates with him.
- ML now believes her visions, he says, "Okay, let's do it" "Tonight is good", but he has a condition...

Ep5 - Enter FLR being a nosy, interfering irritation yet again & he has to escort from the building, so instead of telling the FL his condition he says never mind we can talk tomorrow.

- FL tells him the only reason she wants to sleep with him is the vision, working with him since the vision is making her feel suffocated & she thinks she'll "feel more at ease" after she sleeps with him. He tells her to come over tonight.
- They're at his place (different clothes from the vision) discussing the details of the vision. This feels like a business deal - (snort) she even prepared a contract with a confidentiality clause. She thinks in the vision they sleep together because they're drunk, he says he only sleeps with women he's dating. If she wants to sleep with him, she'll have to date him, that's his condition.
- "Of all people, you & me, I can't imagine it" (she tells him despite constantly replaying the vision kissing in her head).
She is constantly low-key insulting the ML.
After telling him she can't see them dating she's on her phone looking him right in eye as she tells her ex she agrees to the 3 dates.

Didn't even make it to the end of ep5, I dropped here.

Spicy Ryan Ren scenes loosely stitched together with plot

I started out questioning the wisdom of the FLs choice to sport open toe'd, strappy heels as she marched across the soaking wet grass in the pouring rain (I would have slipped, sunk in the mud, & fallen on my face) - although, from a visual standpoint the scene was gorgeously cinematic.
I was quickly distracted by the unexpected appearance of our very gorgeous, dead guy taking our FL down for a spicy make out session... on his coffin?
This tells us a few things.
1. Ren Ren is crazy hot no matter what what you ask him to do.
2. If you are expecting a logical, plot based story, you have come to the wrong place.

Embrace the steamy goodness, but don't ask too many questions about things like timeline congruity or feasibility.

Once I embraced the chaos I found myself really enjoying this. I was even kind of surprised that I wanted to rate it 8, because I rarely give web dramas above 7.
The fact that this easily has the highest kiss count I have ever seen May have something to do with that...

Sometimes the FL's character got on my nerves because they liked using the old "a clueless idiot is funny" trope, which I find that annoying.
Other times she was utterly adorable and really funny.

Not a comedy

People kept saying this was a comedy and I like isekai stories so I gave it a try.
It did start out pretty funny and lighthearted, but it doesn't stay that way.
Do Not let yourself get attached to Any of the characters, so many characters have died already (ep27/56, ep are about 30min).

Episodes 30-50
After the massacres the story moves to the capital and the toll mostly stops climbing. The story becomes more about political and palace intrigued, as well as starting to focus more on the FL's cooking. This part reminded me more of the anime than first 27 did.
After the leads manage to reconcile they do a pretty good job of communicating, being honest, and being loyal to each other through the assorted machinations.
I like that their relationship has gotten stronger but the palace stuff can get really frustrating. These are some of the quickest to anger, and least likely to actually gather facts, group of royals I've come across yet.

Episodes 50+
Spoke too soon about their good relationship, trust, and communication. Now the previously smart and perpetually suspicious ML is being stupid and gullible. They've gone right back to keep secrets and not trusting each other.
Thank goodness this is almost over. There have been some great episodes, but not enough of them to make this is particularly good show.
By the end I gave up expecting everything to make sense, stopped caring about plot holes, and told myself to just be glad they were reunited in the end.

This might be the first drama where I'm glad to reach the end instead of wishing it hadn't ended.

It wasn't horrible but it wasn't very good either.

I started this because I like the FL and she did a great job with what she was given.
I fell in love with ML, he's very pretty and he also did a good job with his character. if not for how much I like those 2 I never would have made it through this.

The concept for the story was good, but the script and directing were rather lacking. The scenes often felt stitched together and they were clearly relying on violence and the flashing of skin to get us through this.

I managed to power my way to the end where one villain dies and the other gets locked up... and then it ended. No idea what the 2 leads are thinking, feeling, or planning... Just credits.

If not for how much I like the 2 leads I would call this a complete waste of my time. I am thankful I discovered the ML though, so it wasn't a total loss.

Requirement: Must find hilarity in absurdity

The story is that the FL gets "horribly disfigured" and barely survives when her husband mascares her family on their wedding night - this is a fairly common cdrama revenge trope.
Anyway, they fish her body out of a river and all I can think is I've had worse rug burn than the little scratches on her face.

Now she's supposed to be grateful her rescuer switched her face with the dead girl they were actually looking for.

This is hilariously bad and it hasn't even been 5 minutes 😂

She's tied to a chair by her captors, but she miraculously has a very fancy dagger in her hand - which she did not have in her hand 2 seconds before when she was struggling to free her hands, and attack her attacker 😂
So maybe it's a magic dagger that can be summoned at will?
We soon learn from a flas back that the dagger is given to her on her wedding night, but she drops it and we see it embed in the floor. She's then bound and dumped in the river from which she is later pulled on the cusp of death.
So, she undergoes plastic surgery, has time for some costume changes, and gets tied up again (to be presented to the afore mentioned attacker) before untying her hands and then Bam!
She summons her magic dagger!

And we managed to fit a villian speech into the flashback too!!

I didn't even try to mention all the "hilarity" that happened in episode 1.
