Reading your last sentence, where her dad serve that "tea," I have to laugh heartily recalling the scene. It's hilarious indeed. The comedy in this drama is my cup of tea, too. I giggle, chuckle, and even have to pause the drama for LOL , causing my mom scold me. π€£π€£π€£
I love Fan Yun. Her money-oriented attitude is so real for a person tired dealing with poverty. ππ Qi Zheng acts foolish is perfect to trick those three elders, so that they don't know his hidden agenda. Lou Qi Yan and his fake beard? It makes me giggle. π
I don't get the harsh criticisms this drama get. It's a romance comedy. The characters, scenes, story, plots and even the background music should be dumb, silly, funny, and stupid. Asking the characters to be smart all the time, then, they should change the genre and delete the comedy tag.

I even have the same question about Ye Li's skill in martial arts, and Mo Xiu Yao's ability to fight dozen of assassins while recovering after 8 years in wheelchair. Naturally, those skills can't be mastered in one night.
Do all the audiences only allow to praise the drama and shut their brains when they see illogical dialogues or scenes? Asking questions and pointing out the flaws are not negativities.

I feel the same about the plot. I'm ready for Li Shan Academy revelation but they keep adding new information or characters that I honestly am not interested. They should give audiences something to grasp because I almost lose interest to know what happened in the mountain.
