I agree. IMO, romance K-dramas are not so great recently, but they have some good mystery, thriller, or legal dramas (note: with no romance involved). For example: AKR (Clue: K for Kim). It's soo good. Some viewers complain about the plot here and there, but I loovve it!

SIL should follow Phantom Lawyer, focused on ghost story. When they stayed in chaebol drama for episodes, I lost interest, too.
If you love comedy, Pull Strings is good. I have a good time laughing because of those trio: Li Chang Shou, Lan Ling E, and Qi Yuan. 🤣🤣🤣 The drama got my attention because Ao Rui Peng's character died in a funny way.
Stay a bit longer in episode 1. Things will get interested. And friendly reminder, please don't drink or eat while watching it. You'll burst out laughing for some scenes. Don't watch it tonight, or you'll disturb your family and neighbors.
I'm done watching OSL. It's actually good and I love the village people's relationship with the leads. I've finished TEP, too. Gosh, I hate the princess for ruining GC's hard work. But, hey, I love the teletubbies look alike gwi.
Now, I'm watching Black Out (K-drama, 2024). It's so good, because I love the mystery and thriller. I find it in the recs after watching Through the Darkness (heavy drama, but so good).

I love how this drama doesn't make the leads win all the time, or see the future even before it happens and dodge the trap. That trope is boring and I avoid it like the plague. Here, they are realistic and human.
However, I'm not ready to see their downfall because of Yu couple. Ting Yun and Zhao Ling have suffered enough, my goodness.

What I like about Ting Yun and Zhao Ling is they care about people. Meanwhile, those Yu couple only care about their reputation and high status. They have zero concern for the people and kingdom, my goodness. They have high position, but all they do is using their brains and skills to stay there and fight the ones standing in their path, not for the nation's welfare.

In queen dowager's birthday banquet, Madam Yu is the one bring up the topic. So, the Yus are not just sit back and do nothing. If they are, Ting Yun and Zhao Ling will be in peace with their lovers quarrel. 🧐
Ting Yun would have never be in a fair fight with Madam Yu. That older woman has more experiences, sources, and influence. What I like about Ting Yun and Zhao Ling is they may have no such power—or may even lose in many future traps—but Yu couple fear their presents and skills. 😊 Hence, they keep scheming behind them.
