here’s a collab jilu fic with me and jj triangle 🫶 she handled the narration, and i took care of the dialogue.…
jj triangle. square. rectangle's narration.🥹
Ji Ling paused when his eyes fell upon a sleeping figure in the snow. He almost wanted to laugh.
The reason he took a stroll outside so late at night was to stop thinking about a certain someone. And yet that someone just had to appear in front of him even now. No matter how much he tried, he couldn't escape from her.
She was running nonstop on his mind, so he at least tried to sleep, maybe that way he would find some peace. But even then, she managed to appear in his dreams.
It was funny. In a cruel way.
Ji Ling took a few cautious steps closer, not wanting to awake Lu Wuyi from her slumber. Although it was weird that she was sleeping out in the snow (and on top of a statue of all places!) when it was freezing cold and he desperately wanted to carry her inside, the peaceful expression in her face was holding him back.
He didn't know how much time passed, but as if in a trance, he couldn't move at all. His eyes were on her, uncaring for everything else around him. And then, he saw it. A slight furrow between her eyebrows. It was barely evident, but enough for his mood to sour.
He preferred the peaceful expression she had earliet.
Without a second thought, Ji Ling took a few more steps, and carefully lied down next to her. From this close, he could see every little detail on her face. And his heart couldn't help but race.
She was beautiful. She was so beautiful it hurt.
At this point, he couldn't control himself. His hand went to her face, and he carresed her cheek gently.
His touch was barely there, as if she was made of glass and would break in any second.
Then, without a second thought his hand touched between her eyebrows, wanting to erase the slight furrow that was still there.
He gulped when he realized that he didn't want to retract his hand from her face. He was utterly in love with this woman, and he knew it wouldn't end well.
And then, the moment broke completely when Lu Wuyi's eyes flew open.
They both sat there frozen, and when he saw that there was no suprise in them at all, he understood.
Ah. This woman was toying with him again. She wasn't sleeping from the start, was she?
Ji Ling knew, then. She probably did all that on purpose, wanting to see if he would spare her a glance or just keep going on his way.
Usually, Ji Ling would get mad. He had fallen in her traps a lot of times and it was astonishing how she succeeded in fooling him every single time.
Yet, that boiling feeling of annoyance and rage didn't make it's appearance.
Ji Ling told himself that he was probably used to it by now, that's why it didn't phase him at all anymore.
But a small voice inside his head kept whispering to him that it was more than that.
He hasn't realized that his hand was still on her face and when Lu Wuyi smirked, Ji Ling wasted no time. As if burned, he quickly withdrew his hand and got up.
As he started dusting the snow off his clothes, Lu Wuyi's melodious laugh aimed at him brought butterflies to his stomach.
here’s a collab jilu fic with me and jj triangle 🫶 she handled the narration, and i took care of the dialogue. tbh jj triangle is amazing at writing as usual.she's one of my inspiration to write btw😭. i was completely blown away while reading it.
nd i felt like a few tweaks in her narration would make space for my dialogue, so i can really add my touch. even with that, she’s seriously talented, and it’s such a joy to see how the story flows.
can’t wait for you all to read it. i hope you enjoy it as much as i did😭🙈
‐---- ji ling paused when his eyes fell upon a sleeping figure in the snow. he almost wanted to laugh.
"why..here of all places?" he muttered under his breath, eyes narrowing.
the reason he took a stroll outside so late at night was to stop thinking about a certain someone. and yet that someone just had to appear in front of him even now. no matter how much he tried, he couldn't escape her.
"of course," he sighed. "you show up exactly when i’m trying to forget you."
she was running nonstop on his mind, so he at least tried to sleep, maybe that way he would find some peace. but even then, she managed to appear in his dreams.
"unbelievable." he whispered. "you never give me a break, do you?"
it was funny. in a cruel way.
ji ling took a few cautious steps closer, not wanting to awake lu wuyi from her slumber. although it was weird that she was sleeping out in the snow..on top of a statue of all places, he desperately wanted to carry her inside. yet the peaceful expression on her face was holding him back.
"you’re ridiculous," he said softly, shaking his head. "absolutely ridiculous."
he didn't know how much time passed, but as if in a trance, he couldn't move at all. his eyes were on her, uncaring for everything else around him. and then, he saw it, a slight furrow between her eyebrows. it was barely evident, but enough for his mood to sour.
"hmm…not this look," he murmured. "i liked it better when you looked like you were actually sleeping."
without a second thought, ji ling took a few more steps and carefully lied down next to her. from this close, he could see every little detail on her face, and his heart couldn't help but race.
"why do you have to be so beautiful?" he whispered.
she stirred slightly, and he froze.
"shh..stay still," he muttered, brushing a stray strand of hair from her face.
his hand went to her cheek, and he caressed it gently. his touch was barely there, as if she were made of glass. then, without a second thought, his fingers touched the slight furrow between her eyebrows, wanting to erase it.
"there..better?" he whispered.
he gulped when he realized he didn’t want to retract his hand from her face. he was utterly in love with this woman, and he knew it wouldn’t end well.
and then, the moment broke completely when lu wuyi's eyes flew open.
"finally decided to wake up, huh?" ji ling said, heart hammering.
they both sat frozen. when he saw there was no surprise in her eyes, he understood.
"tsk… you’ve been watching me, haven’t you?" she smirked, teasing. "and you thought i wouldn’t notice?"
ji ling felt the sting of being played again. usually, he would get mad. he had fallen into her traps countless times. yet the boiling feeling of annoyance and rage didn’t appear.
"you’re impossible," he muttered, though a small smile tugged at his lips. "absolutely impossible."
a small voice in his head whispered it was more than that. he hadn’t realized his hand was still on her face.
"move your hand," she teased, lightly flicking his fingers. "or is it too comfortable there?"
as if burned, ji ling quickly withdrew his hand and got up, dusting snow off his clothes.
"you’re enjoying this way too much," he grumbled, though his stomach fluttered.
"maybe," she replied with a mischievous glint in her eyes. "but you’re enjoying it too, aren’t you?"
her melodious laugh aimed at him sent butterflies racing through his stomach.
"damn you," he whispered under his breath, shaking his head, but his grin betrayed him.
"you love me," she said simply, voice teasing but soft.
"maybe i do," he admitted, trying to sound annoyed but failing spectacularly.
