Only thing I don't like about JBL is the kissing. Only couple series have done decent kiss scenes. But the majority have those kisses where you can see there's no credibility and it makes sad, because that specifically can add a loooooot to the characters, plot, etc.
I really don't care if it's just like the manhwa or not. It was wonderful to watch the amazing chemistry between the actors a and their execution of their roles. I had always some prejudice against K-BL, but this gave everything. Simply amazing!
I honestly don’t understand why the show gets so much hate. Like every show—and I want to emphasize the word every—it has flaws; however, I think there are also many good things. First, the chemistry between the main couples is very good. The character Phraphai, with his plot twist that brings unexpected psychological depth, is also well done. Additionally, the concept of the series is very original and moving, because it manages to evoke emotion in the audience through mythological characters and their relationships with another species.
As for the aspects I didn’t like, there’s the incomplete and rushed arc of the evolving relationship between Phana and Ping, as well as Ping’s relationship with his mother.
To all this, I need to add something important: since every show is created by human beings with their own problems in many areas, all the filters through which we, as humans, see the world are reflected in every production. That’s something we must understand in any series or movie, no matter what it’s about. That’s why I think we have to give importance to that aspect of artistic creation, so that we don’t impose our own limited ways of seeing things—something that, in turn, leads to shows with potential being bombarded by a wave of reactions that fail to consider that all characters are created based on the diversity of our human experiences.
Where can I watch uncut version? It’s not available on IQIYI in the states🥲
Maybe you already found a way. But it's on YouTube on Hydro Indus Ent's channel. Heads up: English subs for Ep. 3/3 and 3/4 are bad, because of a re-upload, but the rest is fine.
I really love the show. Reincarnational connections and the difficulties created by the tangle of uncompleted tasks in life and the undying wish to remain with your soul mate through the ages. It signals also to the possibility of Zefang really having the chance to change and better himself as a human and for Xia Cha to get reunited with the love of his life, also learning and getting a whole new perspective of his existence beyond his years.
