You know those little kids’ shows where the actors constantly overact their facial expressions to keep children’s attention? That’s exactly what the protagonist of this BL reminds me of. He’s supposed to be the cool kid, but he just comes across as ridiculous. It feels like I’m watching Barney and Friends. Really annoying. I just finished the second episode. I’m going to keep watching to see if I end up understanding the hype, but so far, I’m not impressed.
I really liked this BL. It’s well made, with strong performances from the two leads (though the supporting cast isn’t nearly as convincing) and a solid emotional arc. It even flirts with psychological thriller territory, and I honestly wish it had leaned further into that.
That said, it becomes pretty hard to watch toward the end. The level of abuse is deeply uncomfortable, especially because the story doesn’t properly address it and, in many ways, ends up romanticizing it. The portrayal of bipolar disorder is also one of the show’s weakest aspects.
Overall, though, it’s a very good BL. China delivered once again.
I had high expectations because of all the hype, and I ended up a little disappointed. It’s not bad at all, far from it. It’s really sweet and well made. It just didn’t do much for me emotionally. The story lacks drama and feels a bit weak overall. In the end, it’s just a cute show with cute characters and some charming dialogue. It’s enjoyable to watch, but I don’t think it quite lives up to the hype.
Just finished this one, and I can say without a doubt: it’s one of the most beautiful shows I’ve ever seen. Story, production, acting: everything is on point. I do wish, though, they hadn’t built so much anticipation toward the end. The constant “almost happening” feeling works once or twice, but they use it so often that it starts to feel less like anticipation and more like dragging. Other than that, a flawless BL.
I recently started to watch BL and this one was one of the most recommended but was kinda disappointing. It’s not bad, but it’s just not good either. I had to force myself into the firsts episodes, it gets better later though. The main character is very likeble, I’m assuming he is the reason this BL got so many fans. It’s worth the watch.
It’s a wonderful drama, with a terrible final, sadly. The last episode was so disappointing. I had to drop my rating. It felt like a fan made compilation of cute boring moments. It’s worth the watch, though, cause the first 23 episodes are flawless. Just don’t get your hopes up for a big finale.
Really bad acting and the direction feels like a high school project. But the storyline is good, intriguing and it got me hook to the end. It’s worth to watch, just don’t expect much technical quality from it.
