I think the reason why Flora couldn't be emotionally invested because she is afraid tha he will leave her someday ; He is rich , he doesn't need to think about reputation, job anything, while Flora is not rich . She is sometimes insecure. ( still thinking why she didn't tell him about that jerk doing s*cual harassment! Where Luke asked if that jerk did something) was it really because she doesn't want him to be brothered or she is not good with relying in people!
