NOUR — Ep. 7 Review 🩸🌈
We all swore Prae was the criminal mastermind of the season, but then came the plot twist: Chita killed Tee AND took out Prae himself. James is already convinced Chita is his father’s killer, but let’s be real here: Chita is giving way more "Dexter" vibes than actual villain. He only hunts down Nours who break the rules and kill humans (at least that's my theory). Notice how after every single kill he gets visibly weaker, looking completely drained and running on pure fumes because it takes such a heavy physical toll on his energy. If James’s dad really died by Chita’s hands, I bet the old man was no angel either!
(Pointless side note: Dr. Ji’s brother and his little side couple are completely out of place. They add zero to the plot and just drag the pacing down. Literally nobody asked!).
The episode is literally titled "The Rainbow of Fate" — and beyond that rainbow conversation that so many people found cringe, this point is actually crucial: a Nour’s soul has rainbow colors. The older ones (and Ken gets called an old man constantly) have spent centuries learning how to suppress, numb, and control their emotions. That’s why Ken only reveals this aura when he's at peak euphoria and pleasure (the car kiss and their spicy bedroom night).
Yet, right as Prae is being killed by Chita, our absolute dummy loses his grip and lets his aura burst wide open — and James catches onto something right then and there. What did he catch? Ken's obsessive death wish, or perhaps the fact that our male lead is leaning way more toward anti-hero than standard hero, based on these obvious clues:
The man is a vault with no passcode: Ken deliberately hides his aura, his past, his trauma, and even hid from the audience that he remembers practically nothing.
His ultimate life goal is a death certificate: The very FIRST scene of the series is him trying to burn alive. Nobody starts a story by throwing themselves into a fire looking for a fairy tale; he’s looking for the emergency exit of existence.
He saw Chita as an opportunity, not an enemy: Ken doesn't want to arrest or stop Chita; he realized Chita is the only one who actually has the power to end him. His master plan was literally to outsource his own death!

Recapping the key points of our supernatural saga so far: Dr. Ken is our depressed, low-blood-pressure Nour with prime Lakorn male lead energy. But honestly... what in the DEVIL'S NAME is a Nour? Even Google doesn't know! The only info we have so far is that he enjoys licking blood and that the little red pouch he drank at home was DEFINITELY not hibiscus tea. On the other side, we have James, who sees people’s aura colors — basically Inside Out, BL edition.

To top off this whole setting: everyone is killing everyone in this show! First, the girl from episode 1 was allegedly killed by her boyfriend (Tee). Then we find out Tee also went straight to the grave, killed by another Nour, while a shady nurse was out here stealing blood from the hospital and throwing poor Chita straight under the bus (the boy knows nothing but suffering).
