She’s never betrayed her team, she is valued by her colleagues, she is exquisitely polite and Luke is by contrast called rude and intolerable by many including his own mother. AND, as a reader of the novel. I can assure you that she is not cast aside, but merely misses out on a promotion.

She was in love with him, completely and hopelessly because he loved Flora. SY (in the novel) was a more erratic and impulsive character, as I recall.

Wow! So that accounts for her memory loss too! We have been watching partial amnesia for a dozen episodes and never noticed. I am so intrigued by this possibility.

This is a good point. The importance of their sex life is greatly emphasized in the novel, but the drama tones it down - makes it less obvious.

That poster is a bit off his rocker about this drama. He or she hates the writer, the plot, the FL, the SFL, the Bio mother and probably more characters, but I have lost count. If it’s so awful, why the heck watch it? The world needs all types, but this drama could use fewer emotional misogynists. 😊

She set up an account at her roommates’ request. She has never seen it until the event; she tells this to Luke immediately when he throws words like cheap and scam at her. Flora is neither; Sun Yu is at fault and she needs to monitor her staff. So Sun Yu apologizes for her tech people filling in the profile with details. Flora is working at the event at Sun Yu’s request. You seem to have missed a lot of the details in assuming that Flora is cheating or maybe cheating by dating. Trust isn’t something discarded in a moment - Dating 201 - you talk first and then react. That’s basic for adults with impulse control which Luke does not have and for good reasons. He has been so badly raised and given so much indulgence because he is smart and beautiful. I feel compassion for him while hoping he learns some self control along the way.

Thank you and yes! He threatens her with a transfer almost sadistically after canceling their last minute run through. Some people seem to only notice his feelings and not his words. He has shown himself to be ruthless in the workplace so why should she assume his (unstated) feelings will be somehow kind to her.

I am so happy to see that someone else is enjoying the high quality acting in this drama. I am loving it!

There is a Disney logo on the photo, so I am guessing it might be there/Hulu. Unfortunately for me! I “only” subscribe to Viki, Netflix, IQIYI and Kokowa 😕

He isn’t yet a trained chef when he works in construction. He is formerly wealthy kid with no skills so he takes a low-level job to support himself. I believe he is lying to protect Gyu Rim from the knowledge that their relationship has angered his mother and has ruined him financially. He becomes a chef trained overseas after recovering from his accident. We are all wondering about the child and why a single mom is shouldering such huge burdens virtually alone. I suspect there may be more flash backs which might clear up the mysteries.

100% agree. I promise you I don’t think it is right at all! That is why I cannot endure the BioMom and her self-righteous rants about her stepdaughter . Over compensation!!!!

I grew up in the 60s in the US and my mother expected a LOT of childcare and supervision from my eldest sister. We are a family of 7 children! Not Asian. So many cultures believe the eldest male or female should be a surrogate parent👎🏻. I can’t stand Bio Mom either btw.

Nothing wrong with enjoying fairytales in a world that slams reality at us so relentlessly. I have loved the inner transformation plot since I first read The Secret Garden at an early age. (Not the k drama, but the children’s novel😄) We can appreciate the repetition of tropes in new forms as our ancestors did - it’s us joining in a long human chain of story lovers. 🙂

That poster is over the top enraged unless you agree 100% with him/her. Clearly they hate the drama, hate the rules of a typical dramatic arc and generally are a malcontent. I, by contrast, agree with you that this breakup/long separation is necessary for the ML and FL to grow and (I hope) learn to appreciate each other more deeply. It is a lot like being married, imho, you learn to love each other’s strengths and accept their flaws more generously. It isn’t romantic per se, but it is deeply rewarding. But unfortunately this type of mature plot doesn’t please everyone!

Ok so it is the actress you love. I get it. It might help to say that rather than use the character’s name. The character is unable to play with Mu Jin’s emotions btw, because he is fond of her, but not in love with her. She is loyal and kind, as I said, but also deluded. Loving someone does not oblige them to love you back no matter what your parents think. It seems to me that you exaggerate Gye Rim’s faults as well as Jang Seohyun’s virtues, but clearly we aren’t in agreement on those two.

You poor thing. I hope you get your temper under control and learn that All Caps is not a good way to express strong feelings.

Hmmm. Someone seems blind to the fact that the FL is and has been a hard-working and fiercely independent single mother for 8 years (previously, after being deserted by both parents, she was the sole supporter of her entire family including the returned useless father). Hardly a female fantasy to play that role. She is prone to endless self sacrifice and that is unhealthy as hell, but not at all a dream life.

I don’t wish to be unkind, but you post this same comment somewhat often. Could you explain what it is about this character you love? I find her obsessed and slightly delusional and emotionally spoilt by her doting parents. An only child type. Loyal and kind, yes, but not remarkable.
