thee only disagreed because he wanted an assistant sooner so "romemok could have more time together"!!!…
That might have been the reason, but we don't actually know whether Thee would have objected just because she is a woman if he had more time. The show doesn't really establish that, so I don't think we can say for sure. Also, I don't think him worrying about plub is unusual. He is shown to be very protective of the people he cares about, like Peach, so that part felt consistent with his character to me.
Honestly, as a woman myself, Mok's comment felt completely fine. I mean, women are physically weaker. The potential…
I get where you are coming from...I agree that, on average, men are physically stronger than women. However, it was that Mira had already been sent there as a qualified canidate, so questioning her competence simply because she is a woman came across as sexist.
I agree that Mok's comment is misogynistic. However, I don't think that automatically makes the show misogynistic. Thee openly disagrees with him.. and the story does not treat his opinion as correct. To me, that reads as the show portraying a flawed character rather than endorsing his beliefs. I do think the series short runtime may not leave enough room to explore or challenge his prejudice more deeply.
As for what peach said to plub in s1, I interpreted it as part of their sibling dynamic because the show establishes that Peach has been taking care of his younger sister since she was young. My own experience probably influenced that reading too... I grew up taking care of my younger brother, so telling him to sit properly or behave normally felt familiar to me rather than gendered.
I understand that other ppl may read the scene differently, but this is why I interpreted it the way I did.
