The Prisoner of Beauty and Love Like The Galaxy, which are my favourite cdramas do. Since the screenwriter wrote the script for LLTG, this might be her style.

I don't know. To me it seems that ending in the middle of the scene or a cliff hanger is something common in all Chinese dramas. They almost always start the next episode reiterating the last sentences of the previous episode. Which comes in handy when you are binge watching and skip an episode by mistake.

China has Tencent Video (WeTv), iQiyi, Youku etc as streaming services. They are using Netflix and co to popularise cdramas in the West. It is more likely to pull the licensing once enough international fans have subscribed to their services than to give in to the foreign streaming platforms.
I for one gave up Netflix, Disney Plus and Prime and now have yearly subscriptions to WeTv, iQiyi, Youku and Viki and could not be happier with the decision.

They try to bring their model and thinking to the world, not the other way around. Licensing shows on Amazon Prime, Disney or Netflix does not impact the production and release of cdramas.
Emergency questions: how does Fan chang yu and yu Qian Qian know each other???????, when did they first met???
Yu Qian Qian saw Fan Chang Yu when she went to get revenge at Wang's meat shop and asked her employees to bring Chang Yu to the restaurant to discuss business.
At this point I'm of a very strong opinion that C -dramas should not fall into the trap of American drama style/…
They rely on their own market. International fans are a plus, not the target audience. So I don't think they will change to adapt to the westerner style.
If you like historical romance cdramas with a bit of action and humour, this is probably the best there is. It's been incredible so far.
The leads have great chemistry, the ensemble cast are great, superb cinematography, the director is the one from Blossom and the screenwriter from Love Like The Galaxy. Cannot recommend it enough!
I wanted to know why QM is coughing... So i asked pur dear ChatGPT... He told me thats if he is pale and cough…
Before watching cdramas, I thought a cough that never goes away or coughing blood meant TB. Now I know it's anything from exhaustion to dying or even getting cured from deadly poisons ðŸ«
So does anyone know how much 30 taels in modern money? 😂 I really want to know how much YZ got pimped out 😂
He made 20 by selling some essays if you remember. For him, it's pocket change, but these people are so poor that 20 taels is enough for a household to live on for 2-3 years, if they are frugal enough.
the lunar new year couplets part is one of my fave moments in the novel and thank you so much for capturing the…
The screenwriter also wrote the script for Love Like The Galaxy. I was so anxious to see ZLH in a drama wrote by her and this does not disappoint! It doesn't hurt that the director is the one from Blossom either. As I mentioned in previous comment the other day, it seems like the stars aligned for this drama, everything is a match made in heaven. There will be a major cdrama hangover after the airing is done.

LBY pretended not to be a gossip, but he was interested nonetheless. There was no value in watching uncle Dong being sent away. Lol. At least he knew what family he was marrying into.
Xie Zheng looks like that nosy neighbor who always opens his window to watch his disruptive neighbors’ drama…
It's not like he has anything else to do while convalescing. I do love the "ML quietly observes unfolding drama from a high vantage point" trope, and it seems so does the scriptwriter. It was masterfully done in Love Like The Galaxy, and it is masterfully done here.
