i have a very unpopular opinion after watching the 1st ep but i feel like everybody’s gonna jump me 😭😭KKH…
I kept putting off watching it and mostly started because of the female lead since I really love her acting. I also doubted I would like the male lead, but now I completely understand why they chose him. Everything in this story revolves around art, and even the way he acts weird, ridiculous, or eccentric feels intentionally artistic. It’s not about him being handsome or perfect, it’s about the way he sees the world — and how that perspective turns everything around him into poetry. Honestly, if he were a more “standard” protagonist, I don’t think I would feel half of what I’m feeling while watching this. After episode 7, everything starts falling into place. It’s definitely worth ignoring all the judgment and giving it a chance.
For me, the female lead was at her best in the beginning, when she was fearlessly seeking justice and taking revenge without caring about the consequences. That version of her was genuinely compelling. But after that, it felt like the writers completely toned her down and stopped giving her anything impactful to do. Aside from that one conflict with the immortals, she barely had any memorable moments afterward, so she quickly lost her spark for me. The only reason I kept watching was because the story itself was still interesting enough to make me want to know what would happen next.
What disappointed me the most was the secondary couple because they had SO much emotional buildup. They had this whole storyline about meeting on the mountain, him constantly going after her, losing an arm because of her, struggling emotionally because of her, and the drama made it seem like she was genuinely one of the most important people in his life.
And yes, technically she entrusted her life to him out of guilt and basically left the decision in his hands. That part makes sense. But the drama also made it very clear that he was the person most emotionally connected to her, so naturally the audience expects a much bigger emotional reaction from him afterward. Regret, grief, longing, guilt… something. Especially after everything they went through together.
But then the next episode is basically just: “oh wow, she became a goddess.” And that’s it. Nothing else. No reunion, no emotional aftermath, no real reaction, no closure. After all that buildup, it felt incredibly underwhelming.
Honestly, by the end I wasn’t even desperate for the main couple to stay together anymore because the female lead had already lost a lot of her impact for me earlier in the drama. He lost his memories, she finds him again, they cross paths… but then what? Would he actually fall in love with her again without his memories or everything that originally connected them?
And, if they left it open because they want a second season, then I really hope they improve the writing.
They just put everything they could, Kwai Girl, wild girl ..... watch at your own risk... the other season was less worse than this... and it looks like it's going to have season 3.
What annoys me the most is how inconsistent the female lead is. One moment she’s strong and smart, and the next she acts weak and makes the worst decisions possible. The story builds up expectations for a mature reaction from her, but then gives her a completely frustrating response just to create drama
They don’t end up together. She never really trusts him, then remembers her past life, realizes she treated him badly, and decides they shouldn’t be together. She fakes her own death, he goes to say goodbye at the place… and suddenly she shows up as a nun. They just say goodbye and that’s it. Honestly, terrible.
I watched it until the third episode and then jumped to the end... but what the fuck of the ending was that? I'm glad I didn't waste my time watching it.
I loved it. Seriously, I’m devastated. I started like, “wow, this is amazing,” and then it slowly turned into “my God, what is happening?” and by the end I was emotionally deceased. I honestly have nothing to add—just that it’s absolutely worth watching. And honestly… if you didn’t like it, I will judge you a little. And if you didn’t cry, we need to talk, because something’s going on—maybe you just need to not feel so alone. And about loneliness… what was that, right? But anyway, let’s focus on love. As for death, we’re just going to pretend it doesn’t exist, okay? It took me forever to finish because I just couldn’t bring myself to get to the end. But now it’s over… and I’m completely in love with everything and everyone. And that’s it. I’m no longer capable of forming coherent thoughts.
