jiLing should had been given to a more charismatic actor.
You must be new to his work. Anyways its his acting skills that make him so much more charismatic. I do feel that his visuals are not top-tier but only visuals wont be enough for a story as such. I don't think there are many so charismatic actors who can pull off these characters he is playing. HIs acting makes the drama so much better. I have liked his acting since MJTY and this is me watching his another work and this is so far the best work of his. Any ways he is more than charismatic enough to be Ji Ling.

I think the 5th point is kinda simple, so I guess the plot can't be that simple. Also, the villain is a butterfly demon, so he can't be the 9th dragon son. Dragons can kill dragons, remember. If he were a dragon, he wouldn't have to look for the dragon deity's poor to kill Chi Wen. When reading your comment, it rang a bell to me that the snack DZ was carrying could be the actual Li Jie.
