Love of Silom EP.9
This episode finally delivered the conflict we all knew was coming.
Krit's father discovers his relationship with Wayu and reacts exactly as expected. He refuses to accept that his son loves another man and uses his power to force Krit back toward an arranged marriage with Rose. More importantly, he makes it clear that Wayu could become the target if Krit refuses to obey.
What makes this episode painful is that neither Krit nor Wayu stops loving each other.
Wayu believes there must be a reason behind the sudden breakup. He trusts Krit completely and wants to understand why. Once he learns about Krit's father's threats, he chooses to respect Krit's decision despite his own heartbreak.
The first half focuses on Wayu's grief and quiet strength. The second half shows Krit's suffering as he struggles between protecting the man he loves and standing up to his family.
Ironically, the scenes that made me cry were not the breakup scenes.
The moment when Wayu receives Sky's chocolate offering and is reminded that Sky is still watching over him from above was incredibly touching. The other emotional highlight was Huey offering to pay Wayu's university tuition. It reminded me that the boys at the club are more like a family than coworkers.
Wayu remains one of the most lovable BL characters I've seen in a long time. Despite being loved by so many people, he never becomes arrogant. He always tries to be sincere and considerate toward others. In real life, that kind of person is often taken advantage of, which makes me want to protect him even more.
Poom's performance continues to be the heart of this series. He makes Wayu feel genuinely kind, vulnerable, and impossible not to love.
A heartbreaking episode, but also a beautiful reminder that even when love is forced apart, genuine care and chosen family remain.
