At first, the world of WEIRDO-101 felt slightly unusual to me. It is a school BL, but the story has a strange and gentle atmosphere shaped by astronomy, the universe, and the invisible force that draws two people together.
Then I learned the meanings behind the two main characters’ names.
Cheewa’s name, ชีวา, means “life,” “living,” or “existence.” His full name, Pancheewa, can also suggest someone who is as precious as life itself.
Niran’s name, นิรันดร์, means “eternity.”
So the two characters can be described simply as:
Cheewa = Life
Niran = Eternity
This makes the Thai title, แรงโน้มถ่วงระหว่างเรา—“The Gravity Between Us”—feel even more meaningful.
Cheewa is fascinated by space and always looks up at the stars. However, what “Life” truly discovers is not a distant star, but a person named “Eternity.”
