it’s more complicated than just that. she just wants to blackmail her mother into giving money that she owes back. There is no what she wants right now. She simpl wants to ruin her mother’s life by ruining the relationship with ML’s father and also get money for her grandma’s hospital bills

But honestly based on everything that we have seen, she does love him. Her mannerisms suggest that heavily even though her words say otherwise. Her expression when she couldn’t face him after that party and her expression being heavy when she had to tell him that she has never felt that way for him. Her taking care of her and everything. That doesn’t look schemed at all. At first she did approach him with a purpose of getting revenge by dating him so that her mom’s life is ruined in the novel but they changed it to blackmailing mom into giving money in the drama. But she does love him she just is tangled up between her grand revenge and her feelings and doesn’t know which one to prioritize yet. and another thing is they are highschoolers and recent graduates ( not quite but same age ) which means her age is not quite old enough to understand what she should do and what not to. She has been so self sufficient and alone the whole life the idea of relying on ML to get what she wants doesn’t easily cross her mind for how she was raised. She has been doing everything on her own and that’s what she plans to do again which is why she isn’t telling him

you would be shocked to know the novel him. SML literally called ML illegitimate child. and SML is closer to the father more than ML cause ml hates his guts

I don’t find it incest but more closer to complicated late teenager relationship where she is stuck between her revenge and her feelings. Calling it incest would be wrong cause they definitely are not step siblings cause Guo isn’t married to his father. also to mention that giving birth to a child doesn’t automatically someone their mother either if they have been away for most of the time so Siblings and incest claim is so invalid here. however your other frustration is valid

personally bad boy x good student trope is nice to me as long as they know boundaries while writing the bad boy. Novel was a huge turn off for me because of how Smoking and underage drinking was glorified there. One can write a complicated bad boy highschooler personality without adding the smoking and drinking in it. And novel him was really annoying as well. Rude for no reason. Wanting no attention is one thing but he was rude to everyone else except her in every sentence which pmo so bad to the point I quit the novel midway. He was always playing with girls, acting rude and somehow girls were so attracted to that shitty behavior. make it make sense. In the drama he is more like misunderstood personality while in the novel his personality is literally is so insufferable. He is rude in every sentences, throwing fit and getting angry at everyone and their mother. Having fights and getting injured as if it was his 9-5 job. And somehow he was only nice to her that too depending upon the mood btw. She was the very person who said she wouldn’t let him trample over her dignity and self respect and later she was the very person who ran to his house to cater to him and help him out even when he once had said don’t appear infront of me. Honestly everything she did after Jiang fan’s and Lu Xixiao’s fight in novel was her having no boundaries. It was a very easy pass for him in the novel.
glad that the drama didn’t add such parts. Idc what people say but I am actually loving the drama version more than the novel one. He is at least a bit more likeable than the Novel cause he isn’t at least rude to everyone in every sentences. Novel him was as if nobody else’s feelings matter except him. Props to the team who made him look more human like in the drama seriously!

If they had included the novel as it is, Ion think his lungs would have been that healthy. He smoked every seconds and in novel he was even smoking at school in front of everyone which was kinda..a bit too much for the asian school settings. I don’t know why people think smoking is the symbolism for being cool. One can be a bad boy personality without smoking as well. glad that scene is not allowed for the drama

she is. honestly it was a hard watch but ion wanna argue w people who love this drama so much that they rank it one of the top. it is mid at best.

They are not even related by blood which the definition of incest come from. and Her mom isn’t even married to his dad so they are legally allowed to date and marry each other which invalidates your entire incest point. and if we were to talk about them being stepsiblings: no they are not one cause her mom is not married to his dad. 2nd ML and ML are step siblings to FL and ML. and before highschool they didn’t even know eo which again makes it less of a incest story

also comes down to the fact that she is a late teenager right now and frontal lobe is yet to develop. also it’s easier said than done cause taking her to court will cost her money as well and honestly when it comes to life taking money from family ( although her mom doesn’t act like one ) is easier than laying out vulnerabilities to outsiders especially love interest.

Ngl, she had every chance to come clean after ep 20 but we are not ready for that conversation ig? Sure she had some story that kept her from telling the truth but he literally told her everything about himself and he let his past reveal infront of her his weakness and everything for what it is worth but come on! no background story ( that didn’t release ) justifies her lies. it got too annoying at some point. They dragged the lie for too long. it wasn’t a cup of my tea so it took me ages to finish even though people were all swooning over it but a mid for me ngl. Not bad but not good either. pretty avg.

I have been watching cdramas for 10 years now. But sure you do you. I love this one no matter what others say. Sure ending could have done better but I simply loved it ! You can’t make assumptions about me tho!
