A cute comfort drama

I really enjoyed this drama. It's a light, easy watch with two very likeable leads and chemistry that felt natural from the start. I liked the balance between the comedy and the romance, and I never felt like the story was forcing unnecessary drama just to create conflict.

My only "complaint" is that I wish we'd had more time with them as an actual couple. After spending so much time watching their relationship develop, the ending felt a little rushed, and I would have loved another episode just seeing them together.

Overall, it's a cute, feel-good series with charming characters and good chemistry. I could rewatch it for comfort.

Cute and comforting

It's definitely a slow-paced drama, and I can see why some people might find it too quiet, but I thought it suited the story. Instead of relying on big dramatic moments, it takes its time letting the characters get to know each other, and their relationship grows in a way that feels believable.

Both leads are really endearing, and it was easy to become invested in them. Their chemistry isn't flashy, but it's natural and full of small moments that say more than grand declarations ever could. The cinematography is beautiful, with soft colours and peaceful scenery that perfectly match the tone of the series. It's not a plot-heavy drama, and there isn't much conflict, but that's also part of its charm.

It knows exactly what it wants to be: a gentle, comforting story about two people slowly finding their place in each other's lives. I finished it without tears and feeling warm, and sometimes that's exactly what I'm looking for.

I wanted to like this more than I did

It definitely got cuter as it went on, and just when I thought I was finally getting into it... it would do something that completely took me out again. The relationship progression felt off. One minute they're suddenly acting like a couple, the next they're awkwardly avoiding each other. The ex storyline also dragged for too long and honestly just got annoying. I also couldn't get past how inconsistent the writing was, especially with the main lead's allergies. At the beginning he's obsessive about avoiding them, then later he's having allergic reactions every other episode because he suddenly stopped being careful. It had some genuinely sweet moments, but I just never got really emotionally invested. It remains an ok easy watch

Seriously underrated

Honestly one of the best mafia / underworld BL drama I've watched so far. The storyline isn't perfect but still holds better than most shows that aren't essentially focused on romance (e.i. goddess bless you from death - which I really liked - but the plot construction and investigation make no sense at all).

It is more brutal and action based than most dramas as well - I liked it for this, and it also, for once, was quite well done. for those who worry about how violent it can be, there are some tough moments but I still remains quite watchable of you compare it to US series.

The romance is well acted and the chemistry is there. As opposed to many other shows the pacing is that strange - but it's true that there aren't that many intimate moments. Of course I wished we had a little more happy moments to witness between them !

Overall, would really recommend watching!

SPOILER PARTS

Now what I thought about the story and characters.

About the general plot - it holds quote well together but there are some inconsistencies, and moments where things make no sense. One of the first moment like that for me was when he was in prison, and when they saved Mei. For the latter, when the cops came, they could have 100% tried to take her back but just stood there shouting at each other whereas they totally had the manpower.

Another thing I didn't really understand is how the elder brother completely disappears out of the story once he's hospitalize.

Finally, Mei is quite annoying - she doesn't hold a grudge to Peace at all in the last episode, but is mad at her brother and quite unbearable throughout the whole thing. It could be explained by trauma but she's quite normal with everyone else, so it just doesn't hold up and overall renders her quite frustrating.
