First…, get over yourself. it’s a RomCom in an alternate S. Korea. the production team didn’t have to ask for your permission to make this drama. why be so insulting? your review is unintelligent and doesn’t do anything to add to true constructive criticism. Good looks can only carry any Drama or Series so far- if all PC was about was good looks, it would not be as popular as it is. you should check the internet for all the people who are invested in the plot itself.
I feel if a viewer doesn’t finish a drama - especially only getting through 2 or 3 episodes, it’s not fair to rate it here bc that’s not enough time to see story or character development. take the comments to the discussions tab. I think ratings are to be given by people who actually finish watching….IMO.
this is a minimum 14 episode drama - it could even be 16 to give us a full, well rounded story. I wouldn’t blame the writing - I think it’s the restrictions placed upon the production team by the OTT. that’s a whole other issue which I hope K-drama land addresses with OTTs. 12 and 8 episode dramas seem to be damaging the quality of many K-Dramas.
You’re not seeing where she understsnds now (ep 9&10) that what she wanted was useless and not important anymore??? She clearly saw what her selfishness caused and, swallowing all pride, she admitted everything to her father, on her knees no less, begging for his help. she no longer cares about herself. it’s all him. (As in any great romantic drama) the GP never wavered in his feelings or care for her. Nor did he blame her for the ‘mess’ the fake marriage idea caused (of which he was 50% part). both their character arcs morphed in eps 9 & 10. both were committed to protecting the other in this high stakes situation (yes, I know it’s fiction). even though - IMO - he had the most to lose, he is committed to protecting her, his nephew and the crown.
It’s a love story first, and a well written one at that.
based on your individual ratings, 1.5 is hardly a fair overall rating especially if you are ‘invested’ in this drama.
I don’t wanna give this a rating in the review section because I don’t plan on finishing it. I don’t think that would be fair to the PH team who worked very hard to put it together. It’s definitely an ambitious remake. I’m not going to finish it because IMHO there is no remake that could compare to the Korean original. KSH, YSJ, and OJS literally became Moon Gang Tae, Ko Min Young, and Moon Sang Tae respectively. The brother relationship between MGT and MST is the best I’ve seen after watching 150 +/- K-dramas. KSH and YSJ had excellent chemistry. the three blended exceptionally well in every scene they were in together. it’s a toss up who dominated the screen between SYJ and OJS. They were equally good. I’m not picking up the same cohesiveness with the PH cast. The ML and FL seem stiff. MatMat is doing well but I haven watched enough to comment on the brother relationship with PatPat.
I respectfully submit to you that at this stage of the drama, 2 episodes out, for better dialogue with other viewers your post belongs in the Discusdions Tab or on Reddit. it’s really unfair to the rating system to drop a drama after 1 episode and then give a low rating that will forever lower the overall rating of this drama. Your’s is not an unworthy post, in and of itself, just not under the reviews section. Since you have decided to drop it after 1 episode your post is really social commentary.

you are correct. arcs take time which is why I couldn’t rate above an 8 at this time. my intent was to be positive not critical.
