Little rant session haha. Idk about you guys, but the waiting and anticipation has kinda fell flat a little haha. Like the peak anxiety feeling of waiting has been crushed so much due to “tentative” release dates that I am kinda burned out lol. I am hoping that this drama is just as we all expect it to be and beautiful! However, some of these past releases like Love For You or Road to Success or Key to the Phoenix heart for example, are good dramas, but I feel like they’re missing something? Their anticipations were high, but the execution seems to be lacking for me? Maybe it’s because Overdo is such a massive drama that these other dramas are just not cutting it for me. Idk what do you guys think?

So, doing some fun investigating. The new Hi6 episode of Overdo comes out the 18th. I did some past episode airdrops of Hi6 for some other dramas like pursuit of jade or Love between lines for example, and those hi6 episodes released on the day after the broadcast dates for those dramas (POJ was march 6 and LBL was Jan 9).

Hi6 Love between lines was Jan 10 and POJ was Mar 7.

So do you think that overdo will premiere next Friday or am I just anticipating too much haha.

I do know what tentative mean, but I’m pretty new to cdramas, I started getting into them a few months ago. But I really don’t keep up with media or how they release dramas. At least up to Overdo I’ve been keeping an eye on the release

Yeah, I saw the post where overdo is going to be moved to end of July which stinks. Ugh. I really wanted to enjoy this show before school started

With this trailer that came out, should we expect the broadcast announcement soon after that? I’m trying to piece together how they release their promo material and it always looks like they release the announcement 1 week before the release date. So I’m thinking maybe Friday or Saturday? I need confirmation hahah! It’s killing me so bad! I’ve never been this anxious for a drama that I’m getting butterflies in my stomach! Also, if it doesn’t release next week, I’m gonna be crush really. Just that anticipation is killing my soul haha!

Yes. That is his real voice. But hers that is not. I would’ve thought with how big of a drama this is, they would use her own. 😭

Loving the trailer, but do you think they are still gonna use Wang Churans voice or is it guarantee dubbed? It’s my only disappointment, I hope they use her own voice

My anxiety is through the roof with this hahah. Like it’s bad…..Does anyone have any reliable sources as to when this is released lol. If the rumors are not true about July 2 or 4, I don’t know what will come of me.

Okay, I was looking forward to this drama and have it be a nice filler till Overdo. Umm, yeah, you can totally tell this was a drama made a while ago…the coloring and lighting for sure gives off older dramas.

It is hard for me to find a good modern drama since Love Between Lines or Fireworks of my heart. Those shows for sure bumped expectations high with modern dramas. So watching this, I got through the first 2 with a struggle. Like I was cringing. I will keep going cause I love Wang Churan. And she’s great in this show, same with the ML. But holy moly, the Ex
boyfriend is bad……like I hope his stuff gets cut out and we mainly focus on the Main leads. Side picky note, I don’t know if it’s because of the lighting, but I don’t really like Wang Churan’s lighter hair color? Maybe it’s the lighting? But that’s just me, I miss her black hair.

I hope that releasing this right before Overdo won’t cause any delays. I honestly have no idea why they would release this drama right before Overdo?

You know, as I reflect on this drama now that I have watched it 100% with official subtitles. I think the real winners for this show are the supporting characters. Honestly tho. Like if you were to compare their stories like MingLu, Xiao ran, General Huan, Lady Helian, Yue Shiyi, and Chu Qiao’s trio of friends. They all had such great character arcs, I wish we focused on them way more (AND didn’t kill them all 😒), but other than that. They were the real highlights of the story. They were the ones that drove the story and gave it the complex story!

I did a rewatch of the first few episodes. IQIYI edited the first 5-6 episodes. They changed some scenes and cut off some parts/rearranged parts. Most memorable change was from episode 1-2. They switched the scenes with Yan Xun’s family flashback. It happens after Chun’er drugs yan xun and chu qiao/granary scene in episode 2. I checked on VIKI and it’s the original episodes still from when they first released. I’m not sure why IQIYI did that? I wonder if they edited or cut out other parts?

I think it was just some background info on her childhood and how corrupt the imperial family is? If I remember correctly, she helped train chi wise how to fight, but got killed by the emperor for disobeying something? But I believe it had to do with slavery, hence, chu qiao’s mission to save and free slaves

I totally agree with you!! Her character had sooo much potential! She literally could’ve been the ruler of yanbei if yan xun died. Or at least still continue to be a great general! 😭😭 towards the end, it did not feel like her character at all.

Also, the OST for this drama is fire!!!!! I cannot stop listening to the songs! Especially flowers drift away by Yan An. This song is such a banger! I have it on repeat!
