In my mind, I'm making up scenarios of Jin Man and Miran becoming a couple. They could be good together as Jin Man overcomes depression, getting support from Miran and Dong Man. My own episode 13 π
The female leadβs mother was easily the richest and most compelling character in the show, with the mlβs brother…
She has a lot of repressed emotions and unhealed wounds from childhood ,that she briefly mentioned in one episode, that she has been avoiding through pursuing external success. That's why she lacks empathy and expected Eun A to just get over her wounds. She is driven and outwardly successful, but she is not a healthy human being.
Koo Kyo Hwan deserves real special appreciation. Only he could have played Hwang Dong Man in such an engaging way. He is the most interesting, unpredictable male lead I have ever seen in a kdrama(can you think of another unique character in the kdrama world?). I loved his unique mannerisms like when he laughed, drank through a straw, or ran fractically. What other mannerisms can you think of?
There's only one Hwang Dong Man. What a lovely gutsy soul. I cried the most on this episode like I was saying goodbye to people I've known all my life. Miran and Eun A became like real sisters, and I sobbed when they hugged on the street like two people who truly understood each other. I wept seeing Jin Man cry now he had hope of seeing his daughter again. I just wished for one more interaction between Dong Man and Eun A to close the show. This was a beautiful melancholy slice-of-life I will carry in my heart always. Bravo π β€οΈ
I think Eun A's mom carries such guilt deep inside for abandoning her daughter that she can't bring herself to acknowledge it. Her only way is justifying herself somehow. She is desperate to be forgiven, but sees Eun A's bitterness and resentment and doesn't know how to handle it. So she blames Eun A for not just getting over it and letting the past go. It would humble her and pain her too much to fully acknowledge the extent of her wrongs.
Eun A half-wanted to give her a chance for her mother to own her wrongs, but in the last interaction any fragile sense of hope for reconciliation got shattered.
This drama has managed to surprise me with unexpected scenes in every episode. Nothing has been predictable. Every episode has been totally engaging for my mind and emotions. Fingers crossed for a fitting and satisfying finale π€π₯²
Everyone is at a low point. How is this all going to resolve in one episode?! I am tempted to never watch tomorrow's episode, so I don't have to say goodbye to this show ever π’
