I don't think the whole episode has to be full of drama, you have to understand that. We only had one episode where we saw BarthTanrak being happy without any drama, and I'm glad it's a sign that they CAN be happy. Because you know what? A smile is also needed in an angst drama. We're going to get some more drama in episode 5 anyway, so I guess there's no harm in making BarthTanrak happy in episode 4.
