As a healthcare professional, I found it especially fascinating to watch the ethical dilemmas Dr. Do had to face and how every decision he made was deeply rooted in compassion, integrity, and an unwavering commitment to doing what was best for his patients, even when it came at a great personal cost. What I appreciated most was that the drama never portrayed him as a flawless hero. It reminded us that doctors are human. They make difficult choices, carry emotional scars, and, like anyone else, they can make mistakes.
Another aspect of this series that truly touched me was its message about not isolating yourself from the people who love you during your darkest moments. In countries like South Korea, there is often a strong cultural expectation to handle hardships alone, not burden others, and endure suffering in silence. That mindset can have devastating consequences for mental health. Seeing the drama encourage people to lean on one another, to accept care, and to remain connected during times of pain was both beautiful and deeply human.
I genuinely love this series. It won't appeal to everyone, and that's perfectly fine. It's a thoughtful character-driven drama filled with meaningful life lessons, emotional healing, and powerful reflections on medicine, humanity, and relationships. In my opinion, it deserves much higher ratings.

I'll be very sad if they don't dedicate the whole ep12 to both the couples, I want to see at least one kiss scene…
I'll be a little more selfish. I adore the secondary couple, but they haven't gone through even 10% of what Do Ju Ui and Hari have endured. Almost every tragedy in this story has happened to the main couple, while the supporting couple has only dealt with ordinary issues and childish misunderstandings.

So, from the bottom of my heart, I hope the writer remembered that it's time to make his protagonist happy again. He needs to show him that he does deserve happiness, that none of it was his fault, and that he wasn't the cause of all the tragedies that unfolded throughout his life.

I also hope the writer remembers that Hari is completely alone in the world. She deserves someone who truly loves her. She deserves to have a family.

If the writer doesn't do that, then I honestly don't know what he considers healing.

Jesus Christ those residents of that town are so annoying and childish. and I don't care if they reminisce later…
Practicing medicine in a community like that would drive anyone to the brink of collapse. They are hostile and ungrateful. They're always ready to attack.
Just imagine it: the island's leader treated the doctor who performed the CPR that saved his life with hostility simply because his health insurance refused to cover the procedure. All he cared about was the money. He completely forgot that the doctor had brought him back to life on the edge of a pier. He would have been dead if the medical team hadn't been there.

How the hell was it an upset stomach??? the patient had blumberg sign ????? I too thought he had appendicitis…
Dr. Do did everything right. He performed the physical examination with precision and had a strong diagnostic suspicion. It was a medical emergency. The diagnosis couldn't be confirmed at a local health clinic, only at a hospital. The choice of transportation wasn't his responsibility.
It's absolutely frustrating to see the very people he takes care of, his patients, treat him with such hostility when all he's trying to do is provide the best care possible.
His mental breakdown is completely understandable if this is the kind of people he's had to deal with throughout his life, starting with his ex-fiancée.
That community had the opportunity to have an outstanding doctor, someone with remarkable expertise in both internal medicine and surgery, but they failed to appreciate him. Instead, they constantly attack him.
I know I may sound harsh, but I don't think Dr. Do should stay on that island. He deserves to live somewhere better, where his knowledge, dedication, and hard work are truly valued.
It's almost a miracle that he's able to heal in a place like that. Not even his romantic relationship became a source of happiness or comfort.

I think the writer actually hates the main character. There's no way a romance should constantly put its protagonist through so many trials, humiliation, neglect, and mistreatment. Hardly anyone acknowledges his efforts or his kindness. It's so frustrating.
The secondary couple has more happy moments and good news than poor Dr. Do.
I know the whole point is to push him to the edge, but they didn't have to throw him into the abyss.
I'll be really disappointed if they give this doctor only 15 minutes of happiness. He deserves so much more.

Title Doctor on the Edge Spoiler
The grandmother's death without giving anyone the chance to say goodbye was a powerful reminder of how life can be cut short so abruptly.
Even though she had terminal cancer, Hari couldn't control her emotions or channel them into making the most of her grandmother's final days. Instead, she chose anger and resentment. And when she finally changed her mind, it was already too late.
Unfortunately, that's how life often is. Most of the time, we don't get second chances.
That's why, even when we disagree with the people we love, we shouldn't waste a single day of their precious lives. We never know how many days they have left.
I'm really enjoying the medical cases in this drama. There are so many meaningful life lessons hidden between the lines.

I usually follow this page as a reader, but as a healthcare professional, I couldn't help commenting on how deeply Chapter 6 moved me.

The dilemma Dr. Do faced, and his decision to respect the patient's wishes even though it would hurt the woman he loved, was a powerful lesson in medical ethics. I would not want to be in his position, because there is no doubt that he will carry a very heavy burden because of this decision. Even so, I hope Hari will eventually come to understand that he did the right thing and honored her grandmother's final wish.
