Why do Chinese directors always focus on FL-centric dramas? Popular actors are cast as the ML, but once the drama starts, they barely even get any screen presence. I’m a huge fan of this actor, and his upcoming xianxia drama with Esther Yu is also FL-centric, so I feel like his screen presence will be limited in that one too. If you’re going to cast him, please give him an ML-centric drama instead. As his fan, that’s what I expect. 🙂

I’ll probably drop this drama halfway because after a few episodes, his screen presence becomes almost nonexistent. The FL gets way more screen time, while he only gets like one or two minutes per episode. 🙂

Something like these dramas... He got less screen presence in puruit of jade like 3-4min after 10th episode eventhough the novel focused on both of them.
I think Hou Minghao shouldn't take this role. If this is a female-lead-centric drama, he shouldn't accept it. He already doesn't get enough screen presence, and if he takes this role, it might become even harder for him to get better opportunities. Also, it seems that the male lead is mortal in this story, so I don't think this role would be a good choice for him.I am a big fan of him and doesn't want to see him as a mortal in fl centric drama🙂

I watched several cdramas all of them are focused on fl story and they get much screen presence. If its focused on ml story they gave fl more screen presence than ml. Its really sad atleast they could have gave him 10 min screen presence🙂
