I'm not quite sure how I feel about this one. What I've always loved about K-dramas is the way they portray desire while maintaining a certain sense of propriety.

Lately, though, K-dramas seem increasingly willing to become more explicit

Seeing Son Ye-jin, whom I've always associated with a very different screen persona, step into the role of an outright seductress is particularly jarring. Ji Chang-wook, on the other hand, is immediately believable in this world.

But more than either actor, it's the tone of the trailer that caught me off guard. For someone accustomed to K-dramas approaching sexuality with suggestion, restraint and sensitivity, Scandal feels almost deliberately confrontational.

Maybe that's the point.
