I watched this drama back when Lee Seung-gi was at the peak of his popularity, especially while he was actively appearing on Strong Heart and 1 Night 2 Days. Seeing him transition from a variety show star to a romantic comedy lead made this drama even more enjoyable.
This is one of the classic fantasy rom-com K-dramas that perfectly balances romance, comedy, and heartfelt moments. The chemistry between Lee Seung-gi and Shin Min-ah is absolutely charming. Shin Min-ah's portrayal of the innocent, adorable, and lovable gumiho is unforgettable, while Lee Seung-gi delivers his trademark comedic timing with plenty of hilarious expressions and reactions.
Although the visual effects are obviously dated by today's standards, they were more than acceptable for a 2010 television drama. The story is simple and easy to follow, focusing more on the relationship between the main couple than on complicated fantasy lore.
The drama offers plenty of funny moments that gradually evolve into an emotional romance. As the story progresses, the lighthearted atmosphere gives way to genuine emotional stakes, making it easy to become attached to the characters. The supporting cast also adds plenty of entertainment without overshadowing the main couple.
