He stole the entire stage from Meng.
I agree. For me, he completely steals the show in this drama.😅

The only reason I'm still watching this drama is the male lead. 🤣 Seriously, how can anyone not love him? He's just so adorable.

Episode 20 was the first episode I've really enjoyed in a while. I liked the episodes after Episode 11 much less.

I've seen a lot of debates about the female lead and the male lead. Some people defend the female lead, while others defend the male lead. Honestly, I understand both sides. I think next time I should just pick a drama with a mentally healthy female lead and no psychological trauma. 😂
For a long time, we kept getting dramas where the male lead was emotionally damaged, and the female lead had to suffer because of it. Now it feels like the opposite is happening. But there should be some balance. Personally, I prefer watching two emotionally healthy, reasonable leads. 🤣
Since we've already started this drama, let's see it through to the end. I'm trying not to take it too seriously, and honestly, it's much easier to enjoy it that way.

Huayong's influence has clearly rubbed onto Cui Jinbai 🤣🤣 He's becoming more and more shameless and proactive…
Well, as they say, you become like the people you spend the most time with.🤣

I think she simply doesn't want to have a weakness. Falling in love can potentially make a person helpless and…
I understand her reasoning, but I still don't fully get it. She already has a weakness—her family. If she falls in love, he'll simply become part of that family. So what's the difference? By that logic, her family could betray her or change their minds one day too. You can't control what other people think or how they might change in the future.

Exactly at this point even I am feeling her coldness towards crown prince is getting a little too much even after…
I agree. He sacrificed years of his life to save her. No one expects her to fall in love with him immediately because of that, but she could at least be a little less rude to him. I really don't understand why the writers made the female lead this way. No one is asking her to love him, but she could at least treat him with a little more kindness.

To be honest, I don't think the female lead's makeup in this drama suits her.
I've only watched one drama with her.

I think his role in here is really good. I am just not fond of the FL or the actress herself. I think this character…
I agree. His performance has been excellent, and he really plays the role well. It honestly feels like this role was made for him. But overall, the drama has quite a few issues with the writing, so it's only average for me.

Honestly, the more I think about it, the more confused I am by the female lead's motivation. Gu Qing Zhi wasn't hurt by love itself—she was hurt by politics and the circumstances she was caught in. She even admitted that she didn't blame her husband. So I'm struggling to understand why she's so afraid of falling in love. If the story had shown that she genuinely loved her husband and was betrayed by him, her fear would make more sense to me. But their marriage was a political arrangement from the very beginning, so I find it hard to connect that to her fear of love.
I understand that she didn't have many good examples of love around her. But she's supposed to be such an intelligent woman, so I don't understand why she couldn't realize that just because other people's relationships ended badly doesn't mean hers would too.

I'ma try to keep watching this, but the FL's big, red lips keep distracting the hell out of me. Even when she's…
To be honest, I don't think the female lead's makeup in this drama suits her.

Am I the only one annoyed with the FL?
You're definitely not the only one. I understand her reasons for acting the way she does, but we're already on episode 19. It's starting to get frustrating, and I think it'll be really hard for me to believe in her love in the later episodes when she finally realizes she's in love with the male lead.

I’m 10 episodes in and I’m overall kind of bored. At least the ML’s scenes are more integral to the plot,…
Thanks for sharing your perspective! I guess we just connected with different characters. 😊

People are always like that with second lead. Meanwhile the ML is the one carrying the show with his cheesy lines.…
I feel the same. The male lead is the one keeping me interested. Without him, I probably would have dropped the drama too.

After reading so many comments about how great the second couple is and seeing how many people are invested in them, I decided to pay more attention to their scenes. I even saw people saying they wanted a whole drama centered around them.
I'm sorry, but I just couldn't connect with them. At this point, I skip almost every scene that doesn't include the male lead. I can't help it. The only scenes I genuinely enjoy are the ones he's in.
Am I the only one who feels this way?🤣

The male lead has by far the most interesting storyline, and he's also the most compelling character in the drama. He has so many different sides to his personality, and he keeps surprising me with every episode.
He's the only reason I'm still watching this drama. He brings life to every episode and makes the otherwise boring atmosphere much more enjoyable.

From watching episode 19, I can already tell that the female lead has fallen in love with the male lead. For the first time, I actually feel like she's in love.
As for the second male lead, the only way I can describe him is obsessed. Honestly, I don't understand his motives or his feelings. This isn't love anymore—it's an obsession.

For me, the male lead completely stole the show. He's much more interesting to watch than the female lead, even though she's technically the main character. Honestly, if it weren't for him, I probably wouldn't have kept watching because the story wouldn't have been as interesting. His character feels so unique and refreshing—I don't see male leads like him very often in dramas. And the actor is doing such an amazing job, it almost feels like he's just playing himself. 🤣
