Was it worth it watching? Maybe. Rewatching? Not at all
I didn't intend to watch this series at first, I was just curious, but I admit I'm a sucker for friends-to-lovers trope. Also I already knew Santa from Between us and Gmmtv series so I wanted to see his origins, and that's why I kept watching.
Overall
the first episodes made me feel like a Cdrama; we get to see the characters just doing their things, enjoying their youth but there aren't many advances in the romantic part, that's one of the things I like about P'New series, that the plot revolves around friendship and youth not only romance. The pacing was a little slow, I admit I didn't pay much attention to what people were saying in the first episodes, but I was entertained after all. Santa's and Earth chemistry was good, I like their dynamic in the series.
The time-jump I think it was a good resource to make the characters grow in order to have a healthy relationship in the future, they were too dependent on each other, especially Seeiw on Cake. I'm glad Seeiw learned to be independent and more outgoing.
Things I didn't like:
* Cake's romantic feelings: they appeared out of nowhere, I think that irl when you already know someone for so long and eventually develop feelings, it's because something change, it isn't completely out of the blue. The whole event of almost loosing him wasn't enough of a reason for me.
* Cake's jealousy attitute: I'm not sure if it was out of character or not, but I got uncomfortable while watching it. I understand the jealousy part, but I didn't understand why he got so confrontative and agressive towards Seeiw.
* The relationship of Seeiw's sister and Cake's friend: I don't understand why they bother to put them together if they never showed us why they had interest in each other to begin with, Cake's friend saw her once and that was enough for him to have a long-time crush on her. I feel like a missed something.
* The dating phase: the period when Cake and Seeiw started dating was so short. We didn't get to see what changed between being friends to being lovers, I would have liked more couple dynamics from them, like going on dates together.
* The ending: I didn't like it. Seeiw's mom death was unnecessary in my opinion, what was the point of it? I felt it was forced drama, followed by suddenly bringing in Seeiw's dad whom we barely knew of. If Seeiw resentment was consuming him or affecting his life somehow it would have made more sense, but he was perfectly fine without him.
* Age-gap: Not gonna lie acknowledging Santa was just 17 during the series and Earth was 26 bothered me a little, I think Earth did a great job but I would have been more comfortable if director had chosen an actor closer to the character age, for the sake of accuracy.
