Seven Years of Waiting: Why Our Dating Sim is a Sweet Escape
I really like the choice of music and the cinematography in this one.
And honestly? I want to play this dating sim myself, hahaha! How cool that must be?
Come to think of it, this is such a simple, sweet series. For some reason, I really like that it's a short series and the plot isn't overly complicated. There's genuine chemistry, and while the acting might not be the absolute best, it feels a lot more natural and down-to-earth.
I've seen a lot of BLs where a new problem or drama is constantly thrown at you one after another. It's actually very rare to find a series that sticks to basically just one central plot, but I really like that choice here.
They didn't clutter the story with unnecessary side issues or over-the-top drama.
And can we take a moment to appreciate Ki-tae? His anxiety and sheer terror of losing Wan again... that agony of looking for him for seven whole years?
I know it's fiction, but waiting and searching for seven years, and still loving the exact same person with that exact same intensity? That is dedication.
I also love that they didn't drag out the part where they finally get together, nor did they make PD Ahn's job offer into a massive, drawn-out conflict. I love that Wan stood his ground by rejecting the offer instead of running away from Ki-tae this time around.
So, it’s a solid ten out of ten for me! It’s light, sweet, and the kisses aren't overly aggressive—instead, they look natural, simple, and earned.
If you're looking for a sweet, straightforward love story with no extra fluff or exhausting dramas, this is definitely it!
