I genuinely went into The Road to Splendor not expecting to be this blown away (Watched just because I love DYX), but wow… this drama really got me. What I love most is how it showcases so many different sides of women!! From Fu Tingyun to Ms.Wu, their ambitions, flaws, strengths, relationships, sacrifices, and everything in between. It doesn’t just give you one version of what a “strong woman” looks like, which I really appreciated. And honestly, every character has such a good story. Even the side characters feel like actual people with their own motivations and journeys rather than just existing to push the main plot along. There were so many moments where I found myself getting invested in characters I didn’t even expect to care about 😭
The whole show just has so much depth while still being really enjoyable to watch. I’m genuinely just… blown away. There’s so much to love about it, and I feel like I’m still processing everything even after finishing it!! In shock and disbelief 🫢
