MIGHT BECOME A GUILTY PLEASURE LOL

Recently I have started my GL journey, this might not matter much but I am straight, so with starting to watch this genre I can't really comment on WLW representation or anything like that, so that's not what I'm here to criticize.

With that said, after looking on different forums and places like reddit, most people recommend GAP as a good place to start and so I did. I don't know what I was expecting but I ended liking it a lot more than I thought, even though I just recently finished it I'm already having the urge to watch it again lol. So let's begin:

SETTING/CINEMATOGRAPHY
I really like the office romance aspect of it, for other love stories it's been one of my favorite tropes, the camera work was kinda wonky at times, there were certain angles and cuts that made me feel awkward but nothing terrible. It was obvious that they didn't have the biggest budget but I feel like they made it work for what it was.

SOUNDTRACK
The music choices were good at the start, and what I mean is that it started to feel repetitive and kinda annoying in certain moments. They used the same for "big" moments in the story, like the sex scenes, fights/arguments, and comedic scenes. I was expecting a switch or a remix or something lol, but Becky sings very beautifully so that I can't complain about.

ACTING
I think Freen and Becky did an overall good job with their acting, I honestly think they got better as the story went on but that's just me. I will admit that there certain scenes where they weren't their best, like in some emotional scenes it felt like they were both trying to get their tears to come out instead of it feeling natural. In the scene in episode 7 where Sam confesses her feelings for the first time, I believe Freen said an english line that sounded kinda off that it surprised me but it's not her fault. But I will say that Freen and Becky's chemistry was astounding, and they really match each other well.

STORY
The story had a great start, but after like episode 9 it's when I started to get bored and felt like it was really dragging, the pacing also did a 180 by the end when it suddenly had this months jump which made it feel rushed up to the wedding. The twist of the grandma having a redemption arc was a really stupid move and made no sense, there was nothing to suggest not even a hint that she had a change of heart, also there was nothing to explain why. There was also no explanation what Sam's company even does, other than Mon working for the social media side of things. I honestly didn't care for the side characters that much so I won't comment on that. I wish that Sam and Mon communicated better, I think they had more fights than actual sweet/romantic moments that made question why or even how they love each other so much. I know it may seem like I'm shitting on the story, but these are not things that would make me stop watching, they were just a few let downs but nothing completely terrible.

Overall I really liked it for what it was, despite it's flaws I think it has a solid story that makes it good to enjoy and binge watch if you feel like it, the reason why it might be a guilty pleasure it's knowing that it's not the best but still going back to it.
