Same here. Lately, C-dramas have been hitting differently for me. The storytelling, slow-burn romance, and character development have kept me hooked more than recent K-drama.

Even if Tu Li interpreted 'mei mei' as a younger relative, that's from her perspective. It doesn't automatically mean the leads saw each other as brother and sister. The story gives much more context than that one line

In Chinese, 'mei mei' isn't always literal. It's commonly used as an affectionate way to refer to a younger girl or someone you're close to. Context matters. If they truly saw each other as siblings, the entire romantic storyline wouldn't make sense from the very beginning

it's funny how some people focus on the label instead of the story. Their relationship was built on years of love and trust, not on being 'step-siblings.' The 'almost stepbrother' argument completely misses the point.

I think they're both flawed, and that's what makes the story interesting. Blaming only him oversimplifies their relationship.

In C-dramas, the hardest cultivation technique is staying single until your soulmate returns. 🤣.
To be fair, if he had an ex, we'd spend 20 episodes reading angry comments calling him a red flag. 😂
