I wouldn't call this drama a romance. There is some, but it's more like revenge, plots twist and some mysteries.…
Hard agree, honestly to the point that I lowkey felt like the romantic feelings in The Glory had very little foundation for me to believe it LMAO I don't understand people's standards for what a romance drama is. Every story worth its salt is going to be about something even if it doesn't directly tie to the romance. Almost any 'romance' I've watched has been about something bigger that the romance happens to tie into, and they just manage to balance the romance well with it. But then again, a lot of people think MXY and YL have no chemistry and no romantic vibes between them and I have no idea what they're talking about
I was just quickly going through the episodes.I think ye li's feelings for mjl are a bit complicated. He was a…
Yes, if she blamed him for being unable to overlook it she would be a bit of a hypocrite. Although, for his side, it was not even about that but more so the fact that nothing she seemed to do for him was out of any other feeling than pity and guilt, so he couldn't have faith in her feelings for him or their relationship anymore. After all that, he felt he was her burden rather than her husband. Which is also why Ye Li won't blame him, but can still feel incredibly heartbroken and even a bit betrayed
I think many people are misunderstanding the divorce, whether you like the divorce or not, its not due to fl's…
I completely agree. I'm only past ep 28 but I know this is coming and even beforehand I could tell the show has definitely been setting up for this with those reasons. I think it's an important step they have to take for thelongevity of their relationship. If this part never happened, he could be wondering for the rest of his life how much of everything she did was duty vs. love, and regardless the show made it absolutely clear that her driving force for all of her actions and commitments was duty first. She loves him, but she is someone who will do what must be done for the sake of duty, even if it means being hated or making huge sacrifices. But when it also involves a marriage, you can't handle your relationship like that. Imo they've never truly been on the same page because of the secrets they kept (esp her), but it's also not really something you can just talk out and put behind you. Additionally, for someone as young as her falling in love with him because he saved her and everything else that happened between their families, it's completely reasonable on his end to reconsider whether or not she has been mistaking other emotions for love, or even just that her love is not as strong or as deep as those other emotions and it's those other emotions that really kept her with him. Who would want a relationship with such a foundation?
I knew her excuse for the hatred would be ridiculous but "he didn't come to save me despite his brother being…
The worst part is there really are people that spiteful who will turn their grief in that direction. Actually worse is knowing there are people who have done worse for way less
same I really thought they were setting him up to be a genuine love interest for the sister as they had great…
I'm still holding out for something like that, since Prince Ling is only gone temporarily it's likely that once he's back the focus will shift back to the characters related to him
I feel like she's really dead T_T there have been some comments about faking her death because yes, it would be easier for her to marry a commoner this way, but the situation in Cangbei absolutely has no room for her station to die right now especially in foreign lands during peace talks. She cares about the peace and stability of Cangbei, so she would never purposefully lean into the trap
You obviously haven't watched "Love Has Fireworks" where we have to endure a SML who is essentially an…
LOLLL how awful, and also shocking considering it's someone as important as the second ML? Did the actor get cancelled or something? I know they did that to an actor in POJ to avoid a scandal, and it was so uncanny how much smoother his face was....
In regards to the shot, everything is wrong about it the more one looks - at first I just thought the tree shapes looked totally gross and completely unrendered rushed 3d, but it was even worse than that. A bunch of weird shapes, and there's a part where the trees among the mountains devolve into a stretch of tree bark pattern coming out past the treetops. The buildings in the middle were completely nonensical too, because they bent and folded into each other in all the wrong places like it couldn't decide what structure it should be. The trees are the worst part though. They just aren't even trees, there aren't even leaves it's just weird green masses. I don't know if it's different depending on where it's being streamed, but I was watching it on Viki. Most confsuing thing I've seen in my life. I even screenshot it but I'm not sure how to share it
For all the bad cg that cdramas can have, I have never seen any shot as horrible and immersion breaking as the ai generated establishing shot in episode 22 at 38:20 at first I thought it was the worst 3d render I'd ever seen but you're telling me you used up all that water and electricity to make a shot that looks like THAT????
loving the show otherwise but it's so indescribably bad that they could've used cg from 1999 and it would have looked more natural oh my g o d
UPDATE: Now I'm even more confused - In episode 34 it's properly rendered?? They used it one other time before this with different weather and it looked just as bad, but now in episode 34 everything is properly rendered with trees. Did they seriously just not finish the composite in time for earlier episodes? Did they accidentally leave object smoothing on?????????????????????? WHAT HAPPENED
UPDATE 2: It's still episode 34 and they went back to using the old ugly unrendered shot. When I'm on my deathbed I will still be asking what happened
i knowww!!! also they probably destroyed their attention span at some point causing them to miss on a true gem
People keep mistaking important (and obvious) setup, or exploration of themes/other more indirect dynamics of the story as filler. Same thing happened with POJ until the payoff. I keep getting reminded that literacy rates are at an all time low...
yeah, how dare her dad be dying and the lives of everyone she loves is on the line, how dare she be traumatized…
the one that got to me was the most recent episode. The moment of her confronting XYL with the bow was awesome and then....it was still happening... and cutting back and forth to both of them I think to build tension, but it had the opposite effect where it took away all the tension for me and I as wondering "how long is this back and forth omg" and fast forwarded 10 seconds lol
Peak angst me at 4am crying ðŸ˜ðŸ˜ Oh no the misunderstanding
I think the best part about it is that it's only somewhat a misunderstnding. Whether or not it was intentional, he did it and it is his fault. It doesnn't matter if he didn't mean to. Chu Zhao's reaction, and most people in her position at that moment, would still react the same way. It's such a delicious tragedy, all the more so because even with time traveling there was literally nothing that could have been done.
On a side note, I love that this is the catastrophic consequences of XYL trusting his brother, and this is the moment he realizes (i hope) his brother was not only using him as a borrowed knife but also never meant well for him either. Whether his brother meant for XYL to use it on himself or someone else, by the time he gives it to XYL he's already considered these possibilities and accepted them, so he clearly doesn't gaf about XYL.

Anyway I'll know for sure once I get to that part
