The lack of communication in this drama will drive you crazy lol

Oh my God does nobody communicate in this drama? so many things could be worked out if the characters just started asking questions but nobody seems to care lol.

Overall I think the acting is just average. I started watching this drama because of Zhang Rou Yan, for having watched him Enjoy of Life and Sword Snow Stride. Originally he started out playing a character or the type of character I really like and that's where he's smart and his actions always keep others guessing. All that went right out the window when he met the female lead and I feel like he started acting quite out of character after that. He starts acting recklessly and overly emotional and was willing to throw all his plans right out the window for her. He also never communicated with her about anything so it's no wonder that she constantly misunderstood him. Also another problem I have with her.

So the Female lead is Yi Fu Ling played by Guan Xaoi Tong. Very naive and kind of stupid, I mean even the uncle of the main male lead at one point when he's thinking of his late wife inwardly comments that her temper is stupid and compared to his wife she isn't very smart ?, this part made me laugh. She doesn't think for herself and hust blindly believes whatever anyone else tells her without thinking oh that might sound suspicious like believing what the person who poisoned her or cursed her says over what the main male says when he tries to explain.

The Crown Prince Ting Jun I kept asking myself why can't he just have an unselfish love for her? Lol. I understand that it was the nail inside of him that forced her to keep her at a distance but I always felt like what he felt for her wasn't love. You love someone you want them to be happy even if that happiness isn't necessarily with you. But instead he just turned angry and resentful and bitter and started doing evil things because he blamed the sky Kingdom but it's like all these were your own actions you decided to do these things.

Even Yu Gain Zhen I initially really liked his character he kind of made me laugh but even he was stupid and didn't question things and just believed what people told him. Like later on when he Discovers Princess Xu Fei Shaung that she was dying he never thought to ask anyone why she was like that. Just automatically blamed the king of the sky Kingdom for her decline, and the closest he came to the truth was when he confronted him later on and the King said he never hurt her no because she did it to herself when she tried to curse the main female lead to die. Even later on when he found out that the king that the humans were building a sky Kingdom and was told that his master had started it he just automatically believed what they were saying since his master wasn't around. Like it's like you're smart you're supposed to be good at inventing things I don't get it the lack of curiosity to find out the motives behind why people do things....

Music is forgettable tbh. The ending song didn't match the theme of the show lol
The CGI was not that great lol.

So confused......

Honestly I really wanted to enjoy this movie but I felt like the story was really disjointed. If it had not been for the synopsis I would never have understood that he had travelled back in time. I definitely could see where scenes had been cut, I would have much rather had it as a seamless move rather then cut up into only 11 minute episodes. I spent much of the movie scratching my head wondering what was going on . Is their an uncut version? I felt like the shortness of the episodes meant that I just couldn’t get involved with the. Characters.

To repetitive.

Honestly I really liked the story in the beginning but the constant machinations and traps that her enemies were always trying to set up for her became aggravating after a while, it was so repetitive. It always felt like everybody was after her all the time and rather than learning and trying to be smarter than everybody else she was constantly falling into other people's traps and even though she came off as being independent I felt like the male lead or someone always had to be rescuing her after a while it just drove me to crazy. So while I was waiting for new episodes to come out and be subbed I just stopped watching.

I enjoyed it but….

There were some things that really, really, really bothered me about the show one was that he knew she was possessed by spirit an evil spirit. This evil spirit wanted to kill people, she would have black outs and the spirit would take over and kill people, yet he still allowed her to wander around and not try to keep a better eye on her. The other thing is that he would tell her not to become involved or more involved and kept trying to like tell her to go away. If it were me, I’d have her sleeping at my house to keep an eye on her, and to try and keep the evil spirit from having its way, and going out in committing murder not telling her to go away and not become involved lol. Also he could see the impact he was having on the female his mental well-being, so you think that he would not want her to be alone either. So I just didn’t understand his thinking at all.

Another thing that really bothered me, was about the ghost companion because he made a comment at some point about the male lead being the reason that he’s the way he was and I was like it’s not his fault that his grandma killed you and it’s not his fault that you were a greedy and coveted in what the ML had. So it was never explained really to me why that kid thought he was the reason that he wants the way he was.

Also, when the male he was explaining to the female lead about how ghosts are attracted to people who struggle with the more negative emotions, like guilt, anger insecurity, depression, jealousy etc. this didn’t make sense to me because I was like everybody feels this way to some degree or another. When his ghost companion sacrifice himself on the bridge, when the male lead devastated, having learned his family’s involvement in creating this evil spirit. I’m like anyone feel devastated and guilt ridden in those circumstances. Although I did find it hilariously funny when his ghost companion was thrown over the side of the bridge, I would’ve like it to have had it explain where they took him.

More episodes?

This was my very first BL drama, I found that I really loved it. I did find myself a bit annoyed periodically at Shao Feis antics at times. After watching numerous Asian dramas I find that the police are often not portrayed in a serious manner. Despite my annoyance, Shao Fei still endeared himself to me and I actually started to think he was adorable with how much he loved Tang Yi. I was just wondering big this show was supposed to be 10 episodes or 20? On Viki where I watch it there is only 10.

Don't watch if you are looking for a happy ending

I really enjoyed this story enough to binge watch it until episode 46 starting that was the ending I liked and just dropping it without watching the last two episodes.

Characters: Emperor Di Xu hated him! I hated the way he treated Tilan! I'm sorry but just because you're bitter and resentful that your old love was killed and that your new wife looks like her because they're sisters doesn't give you the right to verbally emotionally and physically abuse her oh and sexually abused her as well! And then force her to take contraceptives and then when she actually gets sick from it realize that you've made a huge mistake! because the concoction actually makes her severely ill and you should be treating her nicer because somebody talked to you about it doesn't change that you're an abusive a******. I read that they eventually fixed their relationship it made me so angry. The only thing I liked about him was the banter between him and his best friend and advisor Jiangnan. Cuz of the Biaxi bond he had with his friend I felt like that spoiled him because anything that happened didn't happen to him it happened to his friend so he never made precautions to protect himself. Even though he constantly maintained that he didn't want his friend to be his Biaxi so didn't go out if it was the way to protect him either. To me this is such a lack of self awareness that it made me feel sorry for on his friends behalf.

Jiangnan I actually kind of like the super smart stoic types so the way William Chan portrayed him I actually didn't mind that. What I did mind is that he had Haishi believing that she had more control over her life as a boy then she would have had as a woman. Truth is she never had control of her life because he made all the decisions for her. He had a habit of keeping her in the dark about everything under the guise of protecting her, it's no wonder that she would get angry about not having all the facts when it came to her life. Even when the enemy found out that she was a woman instead of telling her what he had planned he just took action. No wonder that she felt betrayed and angry about having to be forced into being a consort of the emperor. I found it super amusing that when she was confronting the emperor and attacked him not only with a sword cutting his cheek but once he took that away and she ended up biting him the wounds didn't go to him they went to Jiangnan. But you totally deserve that you ass lol.

Haishi I had trouble getting into her character at first I think mostly because she was played by yangmi who's in her mid 30s and is playing someone in their late teenage years. So that threw me off for quite a while really didn't start getting into her character until she was older and more mature.

The ending : so to be honest I've stopped watching it episode 46 because to me that's when they should have ended the story everyone had their happy ending. No they had to continue on for two more episodes and then nobody got their happy ending well except Zhouying and Zhouli. But to be honest instead of the side characters getting a happy ending I'd rather have had the main couple get a happy ending. But no instead because the emperor was an idiot and rushed off to save his consort without planning anything because his friend always planned everything he ended up getting killed and his consort who in the stress of the situation after being kidnapped by her own brother who ended up being the mastermind behind the whole thing ended up going into preterm labor and then decided that she didn't want to live anymore without the emperor and killed herself. Like excuse me what about your baby like how selfish is that! Because they chose this the main characters couldn't have their happy ending because now they're separated through duty Haishi she now has to go back to the palace as a consort in order to raise their son and the Biaxi bond which was broken now has to be reformed with the child who was born with ill health. So again Jiangnan has to sacrifice his health, happiness and relationship for the emperor. Because both he and his consort are selfish people. Probably another reason why I don't like him.

I found this drama quite be accident and am really lovingly it. I am not normally a fan of cutesy characters, maybe this is because she turns into a cat but she is so adorable lol.The only problem I am having is lack of episodes that are subtitled. None of the platforms that I would normally watch it on have the episodes subtitled, I am watching it on YouTube and there is someone who is doing the subtitles on there own time, which is awesome but it is also inconsistent with when they are coming out. Episode 7 was supposed to be finished 5 days ago.
