I have no idea what made you think that commenters here desire a society there one of the two sexes subjugates the other. I'm personally for equality and do find the relationship in this drama unbalanced (at least for now). But I also saw many comment that they wouldn't want this type of romance irl. We see it for what it is, just fiction with very flawed characters that need to learn and grow.

(I haven't read the books) All the times the FL gets harassed (still surprised she didn't report the rider from the village!) feel like a build up for a more serious SA in the future.
