I would have to agree with you, they should of had the dad die saving the son or having a traitor son and the son defecting to s korea. I followed the series when it was showing and didn't even bother to watch the last 2 episodes because of the ending.

I liked the FL in meteor garden and she really makes this show happen. The ML becomes less of a jerk in the teens too. At ep 15 and still enjoying it.

I think rating while the show is running is okay. I've rated while watching and re-rate as i watched on on-airing show. The problem is fanboiz/girls overrating show even before watching or because it has their fav star.

The ML look too geeky to be a hero. Also figure the series will be long and draggy with nothing unique. Maybe if these series were short, one could gamble wasting their life but at 48 ep? Dropped after 2 episodes.

I watched a couple episodes, doesn't really seem like its anything special unless you are a huge fan of one of the leads.

I actually enjoy remakes between korea,jpn, taiwan, and china since it lets us enjoy the characters/story again in diffrent or more modern settings. I have watch 4 decades of the condor hero trilogy and have mostly enjoy them. In the west and hk, rather than remakes, they go with pt2,pt3,pt4 etc which ends up destroying the entire story... usually by killing off characters or destroying relationships etc.
In the west, they would have Meteor Garden Again, Shancai and DMS would be divorced with 2 kids. Lei would of been hit by a truck and left as a vegtable in the hospital... etc

Youtube has it but it is country blocked in the usa. It was okay for viewing a year ago, so i guess streaming isnt really reliable for series you care to re-watch or watch slowly.

Athena Chu is the only reason to watch this version of LOCH.

I watched the whole thing. First few episodes was okay then it just got really dumb and terrible.

I loved the show, but it had to much filler material after around ep 23.

I found the movie a bit disappointing. The Domyoji character was still mostly clueless on treating minako nicely, up till the end even though this is 4 years after the tv show. I can't see how any couple could of lasted this long with such a toxic personality. I think thr 2018 Chinese remake is prob the most realistic of all, since the ML did a better transformation from a immature brute to learning to taking responsibility and caring for the FL.
