i think this photo is okay from before that old one
This oneās old too. Released in June 2020. But at least the resolution is a bit higher. The MDL admin approving this is so random. I thought they are following a strict criteria in regards with this.
Since this show is currently the highest rated show on MDL since it relates with and immensely entertained a lot of people, some who didnāt or refuse to experience the same thing would overly compensate by giving it a lower score than it deserves.
I see you scored it 5. Lowest among all the shows youāve completed. You said you have issues with it. I guess more than those youāve previously watched? Let me address some of it.
DJX realized SZ is really an adult when she took care of him when heās in the hospital. He fell in love after the whole fiasco with Jiang Ying in the restaurant. DJX actually hesitated because of his family background and the current situation. It was an insecurity for him even asking himself what heās thinking or doing. I just think you prefer that period to be longer. CZY played DJX well. DJX is supposed to be overly confident and flirty like in the source material. Like SY he knows he looks good, it became his nature to be like that but itās also a facade. He blames his dad, not himself, for not facing the consequences of his action and bringing trouble to the family. What DJX shouldered were the consequences of his fatherās crimes and the promise made by his mother. Showing DJXās hardships and how it was dealt with by DJX and SZ added depth into their relationship. So I disagree with you saying āwithout them it would make no differenceā
The voice modulation falls within direction and stylistic choice. Your personal opinion on it is valid. But know that even in the audio drama version, adult Sang Zhi has milky voice. And as an adaptation, they opt for a similar vocal tone.
People want to project their own life experiences on to Sang Zhi. But just like how others were forced by life to take responsibilities and mature at a young age. Others still preserve their childlikeness up until adulthood. There are different types of people, not only the ones that fit oneās criteria box.
About the casting of Zhang Xi Wei, she also played a young version of Zhao Lusi on Who Rules The World so I get the gist when they chose her. I understand where youāre from also. Sure thereās a good chance people would be less prejudiced if they casted someone older. But then again thereās nothing romantic going on with the middle school SZ and 19 yr old DJX. Itās all in their heads.
The going from ābrother-sisterā to āwooingā, although itās short, it didnāt happen in a snap. They met as adults in EP 8, realized heās starting to have romantic feelings for her at EP 11, lowkey confirmed she likes him too at EP 13, he told her she would woo her at EP 15 It actually took some time to get that point.
Itās unfair to compare it with shows like 1988 which is centered on a group of friends, unlike this which is only centered on the romance of the leads. They have different priorities. 1988 also has 20 episodes and each has 1 hr and 35min running time. They have more time to flesh out characters. Anyway, Sang Yan will have his own drama too but itāll be focused on his romantic relationship also.
The source material of this is very popular among novel, manhua and audio drama market. Itās well-loved so changing drastically from it will lose its essence.
You seem to demand so much more from it when you know going in what type of drama it is, as you said the premise and trailer didnāt interest you. Youāre expecting this drama to be something itās not.
Her. ā one of the Chinese fansites who takes good photos of Lusiā opened an account on Twitter! Feel free to follow! š https://twitter.com/her_zhaolusi
