2014 one confused me, but the 2024 one is the same as you describe. Noh indeed never said Yuri was his girlfriend. Noh dated Yuri in the 2014 version if i remember it right.
The original one isn't that good. The acting is stiff, and the plot is not that good. The only reason I watched the original back in the day was that there was no other BL series to watch. So you are not missing out if you have not seen the original one. These young actors are way better than the first love-sick actor, too. I guess back in the day, nobody wanted to be in BL, so they had to choose people who were willing to be the BL main lead, even if they couldn't act or were ugly. I remember Love Sick 2014 kiss was awful. It looks like they wish they didn't have to film the kissing scene, but i still have to eat it up because there were no other BL shows to watch back then.
