Im about to start this one. Its been so long since ive watched a chinese historical (be it wuxia/xianxia or else.
Is it good? Im also intrigued (in a good way) cause of the 11 years age difference of the FL/ML. Are they having this age difference in the drama too? Just asking, im fine with age differences no matter the years or the heroes s*x

Nope, she's not the dam in distress type who is clueless about everything and gets herself in danger like an idiot so that the ML bla bla bla
As a character she is quite the opposite, though the whole drama has an overall lame way of presenting the characters (and a bit immature dialogues)

And it could be done, not necessarily by "psychiatri-zing" the whole thing, They could focus on the show biz (Esp the korean show biz), the corruption in it, the pressure they force to young idols who often cant handle it and leads to very unpleasant situations-even suicide-the greed for money and fame and so on

Yeap i know it was the cassette, but the first one who had it seems to be WQS (we see tha cas player on the rock where he left and committed suicide into the sea). So WQS was the one who had it first.

Depends on the year and budget. e.g. for jap dramas/movies of their golden period (90s-2010) 720 its quite bad considering the low budget of jdramas of that time. Same goes for taiwan and korean ones.
2020 dramas look decent even in 480 but older ones...pf

Can someone explain to me the walkman story?
We see it being a present of the boys to CYR. But when LZW wakes up in the life of WQS he managed to time travel through this walkman (which we see at the beach where WQS left it).
So originally, who was the first to have that walkman?

Just so you know...if not for your detailed drama timeline, i might never continued to watch the drama. I was so tired with those endless time loops (i still loved it but i was soooooo tired), so when i read your timeline everything got into place and i continued to watch. THANKS

When the drama got licence to air in mainland China, the authorities cut the scene where she is in the bathroom and he is asking her if this is her first day of menstruation. For chinese censorship, women dont menstruate i guess!

We dont see it happening except the scene after the credits. Its implied that either way, they will be together in the future. The ending looks like a dream-just like the whole drama-so it has that poetic undertone. But overall yes, we assume they get together when the time comes

Nope. ML s parents are not shown. We only see FL s parents being married. Maybe you dont remember correctly

She had a clearly obsessive abusive problematic ex boyfriend, who:
threatened her with photos
attempt to rape her
attempt to kill her.
In the end of their storyline-outside the mobile shop-she even gave him her hand to say goodbye.
That's all someone needs to know about the scenario.

Korean dramalang had also its golden times back in late 90s and for the next 15 years or so. Very beautifully done dramas. (im also a fan of jap classics and even newer ones)

A perfect over the top cute brave loving caring protective ML and a FL...ehm...i better not say anything.
Such a great chemistry on a perfect casting for the main leads with such a boring, nonsense story.
Why do they need to portrait a FL with so many flaws and the ML so perfect, to make a drama work?
There's no balance, a FL who is acting like a moron and her constant self justification is: "sorry i didnt mean it" and a ML ready to convince an audience that...he exists!
pf waste of time.

Married parents?

At first i was like "meh", but then i even dropped lovely runner (though i ve finished it). The main differences are: in LR, there is more let's say "beauty" and romance focus. In this one, there are also very interesting gray zoned characters and the relationships between the "good" and the "bad" ones are also twisted in a very unique way. The time travel in this one is getting confusing but ok, those who watch time travel stories often, we tend to leave aside the logic and just enjoy the ride.
This one also has very unique camera work and color palette plus not exaggerated skin smoothing filters.

With all these smoothing-bright light filters they use in mainland chinese and korean dramas, people tend to forget how ACTUAL human beings look like! We have other face features except nostriles which are the only thing shown when over filtered hahahahhahh

Strong story with a great background narrative about creation and the end of everything.
Of course, in the familiar taiwanese amateur-ish way of cinematography, sp effects, crazy montage and editing and the usual cult elements but ok we love it for what it is.
ML is a bit weak in acting-i hope he get better as the story goes on (im still on ep4)

Very strong story-i didnt expect any less by the scriptwriter of Someday or one day
BUT
the main couple, was weak beyong words. They felt flat at first, i said ok we ve got way to go, but even when the plot demands for a love crescendo of a supposed-to be-an-epic love- they failed dramatically. Their angles through shooting didnt help them-though i doubt they could look better with better directing.
Their eyes were empty while looking at each other, their lines were cold to the point i was wondering: "who lost his/her memory again?".
Inevitably one compares other couples of immortal-human (Esp an immortal who is there while the human is growing up-which gives extra dramatical moments and depth to the relationship). So if you have Goblin in mind, forget about it. The story here is so much more complicated and more interesting than Goblin, but the couple is too weak.
