I honestly don’t know whether to continue with this drama. The first two episodes were so slow, so grey and melancholy. If the rest of this story has so much misery, suffering and grief for its female lead, I don’t know if I’ll be able to continue. I hope there’s some levity, some positives ahead. Also, while the story wallows in the pain of Mi-jung, the deaths of the suitors are so quick and unceremonious, they don’t have much emotional impact. While the death of the dad felt so melodramatic and drawn out.
But at the same time, I want to continue because there’s something compelling and fascinating about this drama.
Anyone who’s watched or read Kangfull before, how dark and grim do their stories get? There are some theories out there that the Dong-jin might actually be antagonistic, that he’s somehow involved in the curse. The creepy stalking sequence - albeit with romantic music over it - certainly didn’t help his case. I’m not sure how likely these theories are, but if they’re true, I’ll really be crushed lol. Too bleak for me.Anyways, how would the romance here work, I wonder? Mijung doesn’t even seem to know Dong-Jin exists. I wonder how they will meet and connect.
Ep. 11 was just fanservice with the main couples, vibes and tying up loose ends. I can't complain, I enjoyed myself, I just wish we could have watched Hye-Jin's downfall a bit more. What we got was satisfying, but after all she did, I need more... (The way **90%** of the Peoplez workforce quit and she got arrested for her crimes... We used to pray for days like this!)
Gyu-rim is so pretty and competent, why is she always just the third wheel to all these PDA-loving couples? Actually, nvm, maybe she prefers to be single and wants to focus on her career, in which case, good for her.
I liked that we had a sign off with all the other couples and minor characters. The older guy in Team 1 had a daughter and a wife? Aww, they look like such a loving and family, love that for him. The other Peoplez-- sorry, WeCompany*-- office couple is so silly and childish, but I still love them.
Mi-ae has got such a good deal - a loving husband and her very own bookstore to chill out in whenever she wants! Living the dream.
*From India to Korea, the people of Asia name our companies Peoplez or *cough* WeCompany cause we think slapping random foreign words on things is super cool and sophisticated. Love that for us, it's so cute honestly.
The way Sehyun was so excited and dolled up for her date with Jeong-hun... The two scaredy cats holding on to each other at the haunted house... Both of them being so supportive of each other's careers... Them holding hands after Big Mom engineered their meeting with the fortune teller and his confession... True romance ♥️♥️
That scene at the end with Sehyun being a bestselling author, and her three loved ones smiling and cheering for her.... Ah so sweet. She got the family she always wanted.
I really liked that scene with Jeonghun's sister in law and Investor Dad. Meeting at the older brother's resting place, Sung-kyung didn't forgive him but she calmly helped him heal his relationship with his surviving son. Out of genuine concern for her husband's brother and father, she calmly stood up to him, told him to treat Jeonghun better. Because of her, Jeonghun has a home, a job, and a possibility of having a non toxic dad.
Best sister in law ever?? Sung-kyung already seemed like a caring and competent teacher, but the way she takes care of her young brother-in-law? Such a nice person.
I just knew that Ra In-ho was pretending to be dumb. The man genuinely has the best ideas, he's a survivor. He was pretending to be dumb so ppl would underestimate him.
I'm so glad Soo-jung survived. Don't hate me, but I think she has more personality and energy than the FL's character 💀 low-key ship her with the ML (and def not with the Kwak guy)
That sergeant or whatever is supposed to be smart. Hasn't he watched a single zombie movie? Which is a thing in this world? Come on, understand how the infection works, king, you're the only one with a head on his shoulders on that base. we need your common sense.
I lowkey find the story at the base more interesting. More things are happening there, there's more comedy with all the soldiers, and eventually they'll even figure how to be a team (hopefully). Meanwhile, the FL and her boys are spinning the wheels so far 😭
I didn't like some of the over acting, but overall this was a good first EP. helps if you think of a manga or anime live action lol. I was rooting for Haie to beat that annoying lawyer, and I was moved by his compassion for the old writer.
I hope we see more of Hiyori, she was so badass and cool. she suits roles like this.
Huh. The brothers and her mom were surprisingly quick to agree with Kwang-sook's plan to take over the brewery? Couldn't possibly be that easy, right? LOL @ Kwang-sook taking her mom's deposit and unilaterally investing it into the brewery.
Look, Prickly Hedgehog Dad was extremely cruel and crossed so many lines when he said all those things to Kwang-sook. The back pain is no excuse. But at least he had the decency to immediately apologize and try to make up for it. Very atypical Kdrama ML behaviour in that regard. And despite all her irritation, Kang-sook buying those pain relief patches was sweet too. I like these two.
Again, I like how nuanced Seri's mom is so far. she at least tried to make her husband stop with the schemes. At least she *tried* to protect Eagle Brewery. It's sad bc I know that's not gonna last and she'll turn against the Eagles the moment Kwang-sook & Hedgehog get close, threatening Se-ri's inheritance.
I'm already on the Bom x Eagle Maknae ship... Two really caring, nice people deserve each other :) also, poor Maknae helped Bom and he still got hit with the "Ahjusshi" by Se-ri... 💀
Idol Eagle looks *terrified* whenever he's around Stan Hairdresser. The face he was making when she was doing that scalp massage (?)... I must say though, it was genuinely funny when the neighbourhood ajummas tried to set him up with the piano lady. Something about the way the camera zoomed out and focused on this random gorgeous woman quietly sitting in the corner while Stan Hairdresser seethed.
it became less funny when Stan Hairdresser bribed the piano lady to back off? I know they meant it as comedy, but idk I found the whole thing weird.
the hairdresser and the dance bro would be more romantic if it was love at first sight, or as I initially assumed, the childhood connection trope. her being an obsessed fan makes it so weird 😭
Honestly, I have questions about Jeong-hun's sister in law. What was it like being the daughter in law of that cold, heartless old man? How did he even allow his eldest to get married to a school principal? What was it like watching her husband being crushed every day by the old man's expectations?
Also like... Does Su-hyeon need a FIL like that in her life? Still rooting for Su-hyeon x Jung-hun tho.
But at the same time, I want to continue because there’s something compelling and fascinating about this drama.
