Yu Ha-yeong might be the biggest victim here? Can't believe I'm saying this about a daughter of the 1%. She needs to: a) escape from this arranged marriage, any means necessary. (It's actually kinda gross how Ji Hyuk ignores what she wants. There's misogyny all over this drama!) b) forget Seon-u. He's not into her, I don't think, and he's a coward. Forgetting him will save her so much emotional turmoil and time down the road 😠I was shipping them at first and I'm a fan of the single parent finding new paramour trope, but this is ridiculous.
there's no equality in this non-relationship. I'm not even talking about how he's her boss or the class differences. Ji Hyeok is completely in love with Da-rim, his every waking moment is preoccupied with thoughts of her. Da-rim has some sparks of attraction but no true love imo: it's understandable on one hand because she is preoccupied with taking care of her mom on the one hand, simply surviving in a capitalist society, and she simply cannot *fathom someone like Ji Hyuk loving her*.
So we get a situation where, instead of mutual respect, yearning, and care, we see Ji Hyuk head over heels for her while Da-rim is just focused on her personal issues.
If this was not a romcom where they are destined to be together, Ji Hyuk would find who confidently loves him and will go the extra mile for him, like he does for the woman he loves. Da-rim on the other hand would find financial stability and work on her self esteem issues. Everyone is happy. But alas...
Actually, if anything Yu Hayeong is more pitiable than Ji-hyeok. At least Da-rim has some flickers of romantic interest in Ji-hyeok. Meanwhile, Seon-u doesn't even truly see Ha-yeong.
honestly the chemistry is not quite there with the second leads, but the second female lead's acting and charm makes up for it. She has agency and mischievous cat energy lmao
Honestly, I've kept this drama on hold because it was getting too unpleasant for me. Is she still, or I should say, are they both so mean and cruel to each other? Idk, I don't think the romance could work after all she did to him, backstory or no. Is this worth seeing for the romance?
How can you be a woman who climbed up the ranks of a corporation catering to moms... and look down on working moms and call them losers? You can't be talking like that chaebol lady ðŸ˜ðŸ˜
This poor man is going through it... Bad enough he has to see the married woman he loves everyday but now he has to see her husband at work too?? So cruel.
the first few episodes were so good and the last EP was enjoyable. everything else was mid. I wish they had spent more time on the second couple, who had potential and were cute together. I adored the main leads too, but there was no organic, gradual romance here - just the usual childhood first love thing imo. everyone in this cast deserved a better script.
furritsu is the person who fansubbed this, so only watch through them, other places just steal their hard work 😞

Second leads: "oh you're not actually married? Sick, let's drunkenly make out under some cherry blossoms"
