I really hope LJL actually listens to Ms. Xu’s advice and doesn’t completely abandon his ambitions for love. He’s got potential to become an outstanding official who could genuinely help the common people. I would be seriously disappointed if the show ends with him throwing away everything he’s fought for just to settle into being a trophy house husband for the rest of his life.

I want him to AT LEAST keep a political career in the province. My preference though would be for RSB to leave her family and start her OWN tea business and they BOTH work together equally and in harmony.

I’m with you, a little extra chase never hurts but right now it’s her turn. Rong Shanbao should take the initiative, and demonstrate that she’s ready to move past the old hurt. She needs to actively fight for them and make it clear she wants this relationship just as much as he does. It's time for her to make the move and prove she's all in too.

Why does he need to beg even harder? He’s already more than made up for any past mistake. He literally risked his life climbing down that cliff to harvest those tea leaves just for her. After that, he’s been her rock nonstop, saving her from assassins and schemes left and right, helping her family survive crises, stepping up every single time she’s in trouble. Also, he’s the one always initiating, reaching for her hand, pulling her into hugs, trying to rebuild that closeness between them. He’s atoned with actions, begging on his knees on the streets feels way over the top and unfair.

Okay, RSB needs to step it up a little bit, show some jealousy, or cook up an actual plan to lock down LJL and make him hers. I’m really praying she doesn’t just sit there passively, letting herself get pushed into marrying some other guy while LJL once again, is the only one out here fighting tooth and nail for their relationship. Come on, girl, this is the time to match his energy!

I am so happy that the SFL turned out like this and not a desperate brat. Everyone expected LJL to be the one to be taking care of her but she is actually pretty good at giving HIM advice.

Wow, the master's daughter just flew to the top of my favorite characters list! She's not only beautiful, but she's smart, genuinely kind, self assured and has a great ability to read any situation perfectly. Girl deserves her own spin-off drama.

No, not in my opinion, there are a lot of layers in their relationship that need to be peeled before they get to a real unity. Just watch and decide for yourself, I don't think I can explain my thought process better and I am sticking with "neutral burn" "medium paced" lol.

I agree with the other comment, it's both. They hit their relationship markers (hug, confess, kiss etc..) very fast compared to most Cdramas but they have A LOT to overcome at the same time. Those two are the definition of "it's complicated".
