That was my first thought as well 😅
But the truth is that the plot has nothing to do with Twilight.
The female lead here is a suicidal blind girl whom gets beaten to death daily by her mother. And the male lead is a business man whom fights against the Japanese colonization and is targeted by numerous gangsters. He's hard to kill though because he's a vampire. "The shadow" is a dark phychological drama focusing a lot into the suicidal thoughts of the female lead and her depression (due to the abuse she's receiving). It's not similar at all with "Twilight".
The male lead here tries to save the female lead from her own house and her freaky mother.

Yeah. When till the end of the moon got released to avoid the new rules , I thought this one would be released as well. But it seems that Tencent prefers to separate it in 2 parts instead. Or they could prolong the duration of the episodes to 1 hour so they could make them 40 instead of 43

Now that many historical dramas got postponed (due to a scandal with an actor) , Divine Destiny has its chance to be released

The only thing they showed us was her mother being taken away in a cage and screaming to MengLan " Don't forget your surname is Ke". So I guess that they should be a powerful family. But to be honest I don't think that MengLan is the type of person to take revenge on someone. She's very kindhearted.
Imagine though.... IF ..... the culprit behind the Ke's family takedown was the Su family! 🥴😰 That would be devastating....
Chinese dramas do that a lot. Make the couple separate due to family hatred. If my speculations are right imagine Su MingYu 's pain lol . My favourite couple is gonna fall apart

Exactly. It's a mistake of the writer giving such a silly explanation. It's bad writing that made no sense at all. They were like ....hm.... having Meng Lan being a citizen prevent us from having more drama so lets make her burn the papers for no reason so we can still separate her and Mingyu and add more tragedy.
Burning the papers will cause her children to suffer for all their lives for being kids of a slave

I'm 12 episodes in and I absolutely love the 2nd couple , Su Ming Ye x Meng Lan.
Thank god they have a huge screenplay time, to the point that they overshadow the main couple. Those 2 are EPIC ❤️

This drama reminds me of the wuxia "Love in between"

Finally someone said it ! People are freaking out that content was erased and they don't realise that all the episodes have been prolonged heavily. They added 15 minutes of screentime to all the episodes which is 10 more episodes in total

Yeah indeed ! If you pay attention to the drawings of the intro it actually contains all the plot from the 1rst to the last episode. Amazing music 🎶

There is romance in episodes 1 to 15. As the plot progresses the male lead becomes more and more mentaly unstable and verbally abusive towards her. The ending is sad. Their relationship comes to an end when she discovers that his disabled paralyzed sister isn't actually his sister but his ex girlfriend. It focuses on thriller aspects more than romance. Fan Zhi Xin is so amazing in his role that he makes you sympathize with him . He was a very bad husband but he had also been through a lot in his life. Overall I don't regret watching it. It was an amazing series.
